History

A host's concealed weapon

Lex receives the knife before he has personal strength sufficient to police dangerous guests. Its initial function lets him kill beings at or below Foundation inside the Inn, which he first demonstrates against a zombie. Upgrades and divine energy later let the weapon interact with far stronger energies and laws, but its performance remains tied to the Inn's system authority and does not make every Dao-level opponent harmless. (Chapters 3, 29, 621, and 2105–2217)

Abilities and properties

• The original version instantly kills beings at Foundation realm or below and cannot leave the Inn. (Chapter 3)
• Its secondary effects encourage intimidation in weaker observers while stronger beings may perceive ordinary cutlery. (Chapter 3)
• Later upgrades allow extremely clean cutting of powerful energy, while a genuine Dao Lord remains beyond any guaranteed defense. (Chapters 2105 and 2217)
