Vox

Vox is a star-field-bodied Demi-Dao Lord and minister within Arch-Heaven who once adds an extra enemy to Lex's tribulation. When Lex confronts him, Vox converts potential retaliation into a practical partnership involving local authority, a Heaven's Puppet, and the cultivation of a Star Dust Dandelion. Biography

Cooperation under pressure

Vox admits responsibility for the additional tribulation and quickly offers explanations, transport, and local protection. His cooperation is not altruistic: rivals threaten his authority, a bounty restricts him, and Arch-Heaven's official positions may determine influence when the realm changes. He guides Lex through limiter percentages and ferries, arranges a fort's services, and asks him to eliminate Diyor. Lex recognizes the desperation beneath Vox's smug manner and refuses to become a routine assassin. (Chapters 1956–1963, 1966–1974)

The Heaven's Puppet bargain

Vox obtains the Heaven's Puppet Lex encountered and explains that such constructs obey laws rather than people. Freeing it into the normal universe will cost him, so he proposes several difficult exchanges. They settle on Lex growing a unique Star Dust Dandelion and returning twelve thousand mature seeds. A limiter-backed handshake makes failure potentially punishable by a lethal tribulation. Vox entrusts the irreplaceable seed and later sends the key-bearing puppet toward Lex's next tribulation, leaving both sides dependent on the other's performance. (Chapters 1974–1978, 1993–1999)

Appearance and personality

Vox resembles a humanoid section of the night sky, without ordinary facial features; smiles and expressions are inferred mainly from tone and posture. He is smug, practical, adaptable, anxious beneath practiced ease, and careful to preserve useful relationships. He can offer privacy without prying and accepts surprising changes quickly when they do not interfere with his goal. (Chapters 1956–1960, 1974–1978)

Abilities and cultivation

Vox is a Demi-Dao Lord, half Jorlam and half member of an unspecified Sage race. His ministerial position gives authority over parts of Arch-Heaven, including residents, ferries, a Heaven's Puppet, and local power expressed through the limiter. He can affect a cultivator's tribulation from Arch-Heaven and form binding cross-universal agreements through white-marble structures. Jorlam advancement imposes racial requirements involving planets, stars, and a black hole before he can fully become a Dao Lord. His authority is powerful but contested, bounded by other officials, the limiter, his bounty, and the fact that puppets ultimately obey laws. (Chapters 1956–1960, 1966, 1974–1978)
