Biography

Competing through cooperation

Jovi joins Cwenhild's expedition as a candidate hoping to earn one of her nominations to core-student status, a path whose promise of explosive growth and possible immortality fills him with longing. That personal competition never overrides his support duty: he scans routes, evacuates wounded allies, links equipment into formations, and repeatedly augments the team's main attackers. After surviving the Kraven and assassination attempts, he privately gives Lex his assessment of the academy's political stakes, first checking whether Lex is another rival for Cwenhild's favor. The conversation shows that Jovi's ambition depends on being indispensable to others rather than defeating them alone. (Chapters 295–311)

Appearance and personality
