Hargreaves is a Chihuahua born without talent or backing in the wizard-dominated Prometheus Empire. The Cultivator in a Wizarding World System lets him conceal Qi Training techniques behind a rank-two wizard identity, while membership in Obsidian gives him resources and peers unavailable in his colonizing home society.

Biography

A cultivator inside a wizard empire

Prometheus doctrine teaches Hargreaves that advancement requires planetary exploitation, but his lack of talent should have trapped him at apprentice rank. Receiving the Cultivator in a Wizarding World System provides another path: he presents as a rank-two wizard while actually using Qi Training and system-issued spiritual techniques. The deception gives him strength and status, though competition for resources still makes ordinary life dangerous enough that he accepts uncertain opportunities. (Chapter 1595)

Choosing Obsidian

Hargreaves enters Obsidian wearing expensive robes and carrying a wand because he expects every system reward to hide a complication. Unable to harvest the treasure-rich landscape directly, he explores and accepts the secrecy oath after learning that Quest Points govern its services. Months later, under the name Greaves, he becomes one of the island's most active members, earns his first B-ranked quest result, and openly helps newer system users understand the community. Appearance and personality

Hargreaves is a Chihuahua, making his small canine body striking beneath costly wizard robes and beside a powerful wand. He is cautious enough to prepare before entering Obsidian and verify that escape remains possible, but ambition overcomes paralysis once he sees resources beyond Prometheus's reach. Later activity reveals sociability and pride in progress, including a fondness for parks and long walks that his peers tease him about. (Chapters 1604–1607 and 1780)

Abilities and cultivation

Cultivator in a Wizarding World System

The system replaces the spell models expected in Prometheus with cultivation and spiritual techniques, allowing Hargreaves to pass publicly as a rank-two wizard while actually practicing Qi Training. It scans treasures, stores items, and issues quests for advancement. Its limits are explicit in Obsidian: it can identify more than ninety-nine treasures without letting him lift, store, or claim resources protected by stronger rules. (Chapters 1595 and 1604–1606)

Obsidian quest development

Obsidian lets Hargreaves earn Quest Points, commission other members, and purchase services without relying solely on his system. He progresses from wary newcomer to active member and earns a B ranking on a quest, his highest confirmed result. The oath makes access conditional on secrecy, while the cost of desired services means participation expands opportunity without granting instant mastery or a confirmed breakthrough beyond Qi Training.
