Eclipsecrawler

The Eclipsecrawler is the title by which the universe knows the eight-legged Dao Lord who owns the Primordial Garden and protects it as her Seat of Power. (Chapters 1877–1882)

Biography

A sealed sovereign's altered garden

The Eclipsecrawler has withdrawn from the universe, sealed her powers, and suppressed her awareness so she can enjoy a carefully perfected garden without the burdens of omniscience. The forced fusion of the Crystal realm into the Primordial Garden horrifies her because it changes that private refuge beyond even her authority to reverse. Although she refuses to unseal herself and consequently misses important facts about Lex and Wu Kong, her possessiveness remains active: she cuts off an outside entity's access when it targets Lex Williams, because interference inside her Seat of Power is intolerable. Her later Sentinel and its karmic web become the model through which Lex studies bindings that even Dao Lords treat with caution. (Chapters 1877–1893, 2085–2091, 2152–2155)

Appearance and personality

She has eight legs and a nonhuman form; no more precise color, size, or facial description is established. Her universal reputation is terrifying and majestic, but privately she is emotional about her garden, complains to universal laws, and can be distracted by the very seals she chose. She nevertheless observes formal limits, declining to interfere with Lex's tribulation even when she could warn him. (Chapters 1877–1878, 1893)

Abilities and cultivation

As a Dao Lord and realm owner, the Eclipsecrawler can control access to the Primordial Garden and block an otherwise remote threat from reaching a target within it. Her Sentinel binds participants through a shared karmic web designed so no single member can manipulate the accepted karma for personal advantage. Lex later imitates that web only after sustained study. Her current self-imposed seals prevent ordinary awareness of her surroundings and leave her unable to identify Wu Kong's aura or automatically understand changes inside the garden; the narrative does not quantify the seals' release conditions. Relationships

• Lex Williams: She protects Lex from an external intrusion inside her garden, then unknowingly provides a karmic model he later studies and reproduces. (Chapters 1882, 2085–2086, 2152–2155)
• Wu Kong: She knows enough of Wu Kong to infer his conduct from his aura, but her sealed awareness prevents that recognition during Lex's tribulation. (Chapter 1891)
• Harriot: Her golden-dragon subordinate calls her Mistress and praises her judgment while requesting custody of Lex after the tribulation. (Chapter 1920)
