Bouldadin

Bouldadin is a massive stone hydra who commands covert operations against powerful organizations and later targets the Midnight Inn itself. His danger is conveyed less through an explicit realm than through reach: merely learning his name alarms Lex's instincts, while safeguards implanted in Rockefeller Rothsfather fail completely after the hydra abducts him. (Chapters 1423–1434, 1849)

Biography

Hidden attacks and a captive accomplice

Bouldadin directs infiltrators to sever or exploit transport connections and orders the destruction of arriving delegations when a link is discovered. The incident draws Versalis Bank scrutiny, yet Lex senses that even receiving an explanation could be dangerous and chooses deliberate ignorance. Bouldadin's first operation therefore succeeds in making knowledge itself part of the threat, insulating the commander from ordinary investigation. (Chapters 1423–1434)

He later introduces himself to the abducted Rockefeller Rothsfather as a future best friend, mocking the captive's inability to trigger any contingency. Over a long imprisonment, Bouldadin converts Rocketfellow into an unwilling witness and participant in a plan to corrupt the Midnight realm's immature laws. Thousands of ignorant agents carry concealed pollutants, leaving the captive certain that success or failure will end with his own death. (Chapters 1849, 2388–2389)

The operation begins when an unsuspecting mushroom passes the Inn's checks, convincing Bouldadin that the law-seeking contaminant will spread invisibly. He declares victory before seeing that the realm is filled with Tribulation Fiends, an environmental variable his conspirators did not anticipate. His latest state is therefore active but premature confidence: infiltration has started, while the intended corruption remains unconfirmed. (Chapter 2389)

Appearance and personality

Bouldadin is a colossal stone hydra with fiery red eyes and magma-like lines running along his necks. He is patient, theatrical, manipulative, and extremely confident in layered plans. Calling a terrified captive his friend and announcing checkmate before observing the result show a taste for domination that can become overconfidence when hidden variables escape his models. (Chapters 1423, 1849, 2388–2389)

Abilities and cultivation

Bouldadin's exact cultivation realm and personal techniques are not stated. He commands interrealm infiltration teams, defeats embedded contingencies on a high-value captive, conceals pollution from security screening, and understands how special materials attach to immature laws. These are demonstrated strategic and technical capabilities, not proof that he can personally corrupt a realm. His plan depends on many unwitting carriers and sustained accumulation, while unexpected Tribulation Fiends may expose or neutralize the intrusion. (Chapters 1423–1434, 1849, 2388–2389)

Relationships

  • Rockefeller Rothsfather: Bouldadin kidnaps the man later called Rocketfellow, suppresses his escape measures, and forces him to watch the Inn operation. (Chapters 1849, 2388–2389)
  • Lex Williams: Lex detects extreme danger around Bouldadin's name and later becomes the indirect target of his attempt to corrupt the Midnight realm. (Chapters 1434, 2388–2389)

Items

Bouldadin has no finalized personal item. The concealed pollutants and surveillance screens are operational resources used by his conspiracy rather than named possessions.
