Biography

The dragon-hoard operation

Barley leads dwarves into the hoard because they believe Pel is dead and even random relics justify the risk. The site enthralls and kills most of the group, but Barley rises from apparent death and continues deeper while weakened. He watches Lex withstand Dragon's Might, records the climb, and abandons further looting when Lex's changing aura makes discovery too dangerous. A secret more valuable than the public recording

Barley's published edit ends before Lex cultivates atop the dragon. The omission spares Lex's deepest secret but gives the dwarf leverage because the complete record may still exist.
