Axios
Axios is a Nas system user who turns conflict into a hidden game played through linked targets and expendable pieces. His long attempt to manipulate Lex ends when Lex uses their accumulated karma to close the distance, destroy Axios's spirit, and take the still-dangerous body into custody.
Biography
Choosing Lex as a target
Axios observes Lex from a faceless Nas vessel and establishes a hidden connection strong enough to trigger a premonition only because Lex carries Dao material and immense karma. He treats the human as a piece on a broader board, applying pressure through distant agents rather than revealing himself. When an unknown red mist enters that board, Axios recognizes a force outside his design and delays a counterattack, showing that caution—not bravado—keeps his game alive as long as it does. Defeat in the Artica realm
Axios later confronts Lex after preparing multiple beads and system effects meant to suppress or kill him. Lex deliberately lets their interactions build karma, then uses a dragon form and the Karmic Bead to invalidate Axios's distance and advantage. One Bead of Life attempts total suppression but loses power for each significant achievement in Lex's life, leaving too little effect against an unusually accomplished target. Lex destroys Axios's spirit and transports the limp body to the Inn, remaining wary that the fused system might rebuild or replace the missing mind. (Chapters 1828–1834)
Appearance and personality
Axios belongs to the navy-blue Nas race, whose humanoid faces lack eyes, nose, and mouth. Small hexagons etched into either side of his face glow with light-blue energy, brightening when he exerts himself. He is calculating, patient, and experienced against forces above his grade, but his confidence depends on controlling the board from a distance. Direct physical pressure from Dragon-Lex leaves him unable to process the speed of the reversal. (Chapters 1449–1451 and 1828–1834)

Hidden game connection
Axios can connect himself to a target and represent the conflict through a board whose pieces and environmental changes correspond to distant actions. Most targets never realize they are being played, but Lex's Dao material and karma produce a warning. The exact system mechanics, cost, and range remain unexplained; the board can also admit unaffiliated forces Axios neither controls nor understands. (Chapters 1449–1460 and 1597)
Suppression beads
Axios deploys specialized beads as prepared system weapons. The Bead of Life can theoretically suppress a target by one hundred percent, causing death, but every significant achievement removes part of that suppression according to a quest-like ranking. This makes it devastating against ordinary targets and badly matched against Lex. The beads are equipment-derived abilities, finite preparations rather than innate Nas powers. (Chapters 1828–1833)
Nas survival uncertainty
Lex destroys Axios's spirit, which would count as true death for almost every race, yet refuses to treat the body casually. The Nas may be able to rebuild a spirit from energy, and the soul-fused system might heal or replace it. Neither recovery occurs within the supplied narrative, so Axios remains defeated rather than confirmed irrecoverably extinct. (Chapter 1834)
