Anita

Anita is an ancient human-turned-lich, former queen, and Earth Immortal who chooses family life and work at the Midnight Inn after centuries of conquest. She records histories, gathers intelligence through undead agents, and remains one of the Inn's most dangerous defenders. (Chapters 229, 273, 1087, 2208, 2309)

Biography

A conqueror chooses the Inn

Anita once ruled at the dawn of her planet's human civilization, fighting, massacring, and innovating before overcoming death to rescue humanity from extinction. After an accidental 350,000-year sleep, she is awakened by the sentient sword Qawain, who becomes her husband. Pregnant and seeking a place where destiny cannot reach their child, the couple choose the Inn, complete its Mystery trial, cultivate friendships, and accept employment rather than return to their earlier life. (Chapters 229, 238–239)

Historian, mother, and defender

Anita builds the Inn's historical record by interviewing guests and sending disguised undead across connected worlds. Although she retires from conquest, attacks on her family or home reveal that restraint is a choice rather than weakness: during a pregnancy crisis she blackens the realm, burns and captures an invading Tree's soul, and turns its own body into a prison. She later gives birth to Almira, searches the Dream realm with more than one hundred million undead when Qawain and Almira vanish, and returns to an Origin-realm intelligence role after Almira's rescue. Appearance and personality

Anita hides her features not because lichdom left her skeletal, but because she possesses an everlasting beauty that attracts dangerous attention; her voice is described as angelic enough to stir the dead literally. She is social, composed, and curious in her work, fiercely affectionate toward Qawain and their children, and terrifyingly decisive when exhausted or threatened. (Chapters 229, 238–239, 1087)

Abilities and cultivation

Lich immortality and necromancy

Anita is an Earth Immortal lich with a Luminous Spirit bloodline. Her voice can raise the dead, and she can summon vast numbers of undead that pass as ordinary beings, interview sources, collect news, or search whole regions. By Chapter 2211 she simultaneously controls more than one hundred million summons in the Dream realm, though even that scale cannot immediately overcome deliberate concealment across an entire Mature realm. Soul flame and realm-scale force

Her flames target souls without destroying them, preserving enemies for necromantic use. Against the invading Tree she darkens the Midnight realm, compresses its body into a container, imprisons its soul inside, and turns on its underlings. She is nevertheless not beyond danger: early in her employment, four immortals—including stronger opponents—are judged too much for Anita and Qawain to face together, and pregnancy repeatedly constrains when she can deploy her full strength. Relationships

• Qawain: Qawain wakes Anita, becomes her husband, supports her through pregnancy, and shares her decision to seek safety and work at the Inn. (Chapters 229, 238, 1087)
• Almira: Anita's daughter is the center of her later protective life. Almira's disappearance drives a years-long undead search and her recovery intensifies Anita's debt to Lex. (Chapters 2208–2213, 2246–2248)
• Lex Williams: Lex employs Anita, enables her cross-world historical work, and risks himself to protect Almira. Anita answers with loyalty, intelligence, and a renewed willingness to fight. (Chapters 273, 2208, 2248, 2309)

No finalized notable item article is assigned to her; her most important material associations are the historical records she produces and the anonymous bodies through which her intelligence network operates.
