Izzy Bluefield

Izzy Bluefield is House Nord's head mage, Charlotte's mentor, and a decisive defender of the Third Prince's faction. A seventh-tier mage at thirty, she learns from Kai LuForia, receives advancement to tier ten, and has her dormant mana networks activated. She later becomes Kai's partner and the mother of one of his divine daughters.

Biography

House Nord's head mage

Izzy enters as the magical counterpart to Richard, commanding House Nord's mages while he commands its knights. She accompanies Charlotte and Kai to the forest because she remains responsible for Charlotte's training even when Kai becomes the principal instructor. Her position rests on genuine achievement: at thirty she is already a seventh-tier mage and expects to reach the eighth tier soon, placing her among the continent's unusually talented practitioners before receiving any outside enhancement. (Chapters 434–435)

Watching Kai teach forces Izzy to reconsider her own method. She appreciates his question about how Charlotte personally experiences mana, worries when he places the student against a primal beast, and supplies tactical advice when the fight becomes dangerous. After Charlotte succeeds, Izzy admits that her rule-bound teaching assumed students would discover their own relationship to mana without guidance. She thanks Kai because his approach exposes a fault hidden by a system that had worked for more conventional pupils. (Chapter 436)

A transformed mage and continuing mentor

On the following day, Kai raises Izzy directly from seventh tier to tenth, bypassing the widening gaps between the upper tiers. He then activates dormant mana networks in her body. The resulting influx initially overwhelms her control, but she stabilizes it and demonstrates the change with a first-tier fireball powerful enough to produce thunder and a miniature earthquake. Rather than treating the gift as a finished achievement, she eagerly enters a training dimension with Karumi to test its limits. (Chapter 437)

The enhancement changes Izzy's ceiling without displacing her vocation. She continues training Charlotte after the immediate lessons with Kai and later searches for her when the younger mage misses a scheduled session. Her curiosity and lack of possessiveness are important: Izzy jokes that Charlotte may prefer Kai's advice but accepts that another teacher can aid her growth. By the civil-war period, the Nord family openly presents Izzy as a tier-ten mage, while her ongoing mentorship gives the new power an institutional purpose beyond personal strength. (Chapters 437, 475, 481)

Defense of House Nord and the Third Prince

When the First Prince launches coordinated attacks against the Third Prince's faction, Izzy becomes House Nord's decisive defensive asset. She rains elemental magic across the attackers, destroys more than half their force in a single assault, and enables the estate to survive without deaths despite numerous injuries. Her intervention lets Henry regroup his allies and move on the royal castle, making her power one of the principal reasons his outnumbered faction can shift from defense to counterattack. (Chapter 475)

At the castle, Izzy again carries much of the offensive burden and defeats an enemy tier-ten mage, but a tier-ten knight empowered by Progenitor Decay can subdue her. Bleeding and pursued, she combines five elements, runes, support effects, and her own blood into Vortex Storm, then narrowly blocks the knight's surviving counterattack. She refuses to retreat even when the cost may be her life. Kai's arrival prevents the final blow, removes the decay, and heals her, but her stand preserves the faction long enough for that rescue to matter. (Chapters 477–478)

Intimacy and intercontinental family

Izzy's relationship with Kai changes after she looks for the absent Charlotte and discovers the pair having sex. She watches and becomes aroused, but Kai's initial response to finding her disregards her verbal hesitation: he grabs and strips her before ordering her onto the bed. Izzy then makes an explicit internal choice to participate and actively continues, yet the opening remains coercive, and the scene does not establish advance consent to Kai impregnating her. Their intimacy therefore cannot be summarized as an uncomplicated courtship. (Chapters 481–482)

Kai subsequently hypnotizes the Nord family and its entire social circle, accidentally extending the effect across the continent, while introducing Izzy and the other new partners to his established household. His connected houses place her one doorway from family members on other continents. Two years later, Izzy refers to their daughter and takes pride in the child's magic; she later joins all of Kai's partners and children before his departure for divine training, explicitly happy to belong to the family. These later bonds are genuine developments, though they coexist with the relationship's coercive elements. (Chapters 483, 487, 536)

Appearance and personality

Izzy is a thirty-year-old woman with wide hips, a large buttocks, thick thighs, and initially comparatively small breasts. Kai describes her as attractive and later compares her build to Kassandra's. She normally carries a mage's staff, but the corpus does not state her height, hair color, eye color, or a fixed uniform. Her physical description is therefore less complete than her professional presentation as House Nord's senior mage. (Chapters 435–436, 481)

Professional curiosity and responsibility define Izzy. She asks how Kai learned magic, appreciates useful instruction even when it exposes her own shortcomings, and immediately wants to experiment with newly opened power. Toward Charlotte she is protective without being controlling: she worries during dangerous training, gives advice, maintains lessons, and accepts that Kai may sometimes be a better resource. In war, that care broadens into loyalty to House Nord, expressed through sustained defense even after severe injury. (Chapters 435–437, 475, 478, 481)

Powers and abilities

Tier-ten magic and mana networks

Izzy begins as a seventh-tier mage nearing the eighth tier. Kai directly makes her tier ten, then awakens additional dormant mana networks and improves how she uses the network already active. Mana initially floods her too strongly to control, but she soon channels a nominal first-tier fireball with earthquake-producing force. The network activation suggests capacity beyond the conventional tenth-tier ceiling, although the corpus never assigns her a confirmed eleventh tier or shows a later formal promotion. (Chapters 435, 437)

Elemental breadth and support magic

Izzy is proficient in the five basic elements, healing, enchantment, runes, and support magic. Her elemental command allows both broad bombardment and layered combinations; runes add effects such as increased strength, mana absorption, and stunning, while support spells reinforce an existing formation. This versatility makes her effective as commander, teacher, and battlefield mage rather than a specialist in one element. The narrative establishes proficiency but does not name her routine healing or enchantment techniques or define their maximum range. (Chapters 436–437, 475, 478)

Vortex Storm and blood-oath amplification

Vortex Storm is Izzy's most detailed attack. She constructs a five-slot magic circle, places an element in each opening, strengthens the array with runes and another spell, then adds blood from her injuries through blood-oath magic. The resulting storm combines cutting wind, impact-heavy water and ice, lightning, lava, and falling fire. It devastates the area and pressures a decay-enhanced tier-ten knight, but does not kill him; the preparation time, blood cost, exhaustion, and her fragile last-second barrier expose its practical limits. (Chapter 478)

Flight, barriers, and command

Izzy can fly while preparing spells and erect defensive barriers under immediate threat. Her barrier deflects a thrown sword but shatters, leaving her cut and briefly disoriented, so defense is not equivalent to invulnerability. As head mage she also coordinates House Nord's magical force and uses large-area elemental rain to break an attacking army while preserving her allies. She remains vulnerable to close-range specialists whose power or speed exceeds what her casting can contain. (Chapters 475, 478)

Relationships

  • Charlotte: Izzy is Charlotte's established mentor and continues their lessons after Kai corrects both pupil and teacher. She protects Charlotte, supplies combat advice, and accepts supplemental instruction without resentment. Their relationship later becomes familial when both women bear Kai's children. (Chapters 434–437, 481–487)
  • Kai LuForia: Kai challenges Izzy's teaching assumptions, elevates her to tier ten, activates her mana networks, and saves her during the civil war. Their later sexual relationship begins with his disregard for verbal hesitation before Izzy chooses to participate; pregnancy and continent-wide hypnosis add further coercive complications. She nevertheless later identifies herself happily as part of his family. (Chapters 435–437, 478, 481–483, 487, 536)
  • Henry and House Nord: Izzy commands the family's mages and becomes Henry's principal magical asset during the civil war. Her defense prevents deaths at the estate and helps his faction reach the castle, where she risks her life against a decay-enhanced knight. (Chapters 434, 475, 477–478)
  • Karumi: Karumi assists during Charlotte's field lesson, heals the student's injuries, and later takes Izzy into a training dimension so the newly transformed mage can test her power safely. (Chapters 435–437)

Items

Izzy carries an unnamed staff during training and uses it to direct the Vortex Storm formation during the civil war. The corpus does not give the staff an origin, enchantment, ownership history, or distinct name, and no generated personal item is assigned to her. (Chapters 435, 478)
