Zidian

Zidian is a YunmengJiang family heirloom that shifts between a silver ring and a lightning-charged whip, first wielded by Yu ZiYuan and later by Jiang Cheng.

History

Violet Spider's weapon

Yu ZiYuan wields Zidian as a whip whose force can be adjusted through her spiritual energy. During the attack on Lotus Pier, she fights with it against Wen ZhuLiu and entrusts it to Jiang Cheng before her death. Wen Ning later recovers the ring and returns it to him. (Chapters 57–59)

Jiang Cheng's heirloom

Jiang Cheng uses Zidian to test people for possession, fight spiritual threats, and confront other cultivators. At Dafan Mountain, its strike fails to expel Wei WuXian from Mo XuanYu's body because his return did not involve forcibly seizing that body. Zidian later clashes directly with Bichen at Lotus Pier and is still in Jiang Cheng's possession when he supports Jin Ling's position at Koi Tower. (Chapters 8–10, 88, and 116)

Loss and recovery of spiritual power

During the second siege of Burial Mound, the loss of Jiang Cheng's spiritual power causes Zidian's whip to dim and retract into ring form. As his power returns, its light begins functioning again. (Chapters 79–83)

• Zidian changes between a silver ring and a purple, lightning-like whip. (Chapters 57 and 79)
• A strike can separate the soul of someone who has forcibly seized another person's body. (Chapter 10)
• Its force depends on the wielder's spiritual energy and control. (Chapters 58 and 79)
