Qiankun Pouch
A Qiankun Pouch is a fist-sized storage tool whose layered incantations let cultivators carry objects and restrain dangerous spiritual contents.
History
The dismembered body's trail
Lan WangJi sealed the ghost arm in a Qiankun Pouch. Because the arm remained violently active, he and Wei WuXian repeatedly calmed it with Rest; the pouch's suppression alone could not hold it indefinitely. Lan WangJi later stored the recovered torso in another double-layered pouch. (Chapters 27 and 30)
During the struggle with the masked gravedigger, Wei WuXian used a similar pouch as part of a deception: the attacker seized what appeared to be the sought storage pouch, only for trapped spirits to burst from it. (Chapter 34)
The corpus also shows that Qiankun Pouches can carry ordinary cultivation equipment, such as the guqin Lan SiZhui retrieves in Yi City. (Chapter 37)
Abilities and properties
- The pouch stores contents much larger than its fist-sized exterior suggests. (Chapter 27)
- Incantations sewn inside and outside add multiple sealing layers. (Chapter 27)
- Its suppression has limits against especially powerful resentful remains. (Chapter 27)
