Jin ZiXun

Jin ZiXun is Jin GuangShan's nephew and Jin ZiXuan's cousin, an arrogant LanlingJin cultivator whose accusation against Wei WuXian triggers the fatal Qiongqi Path ambush.

Biography

Phoenix Mountain disputes

Jin ZiXun first confronts Wei WuXian around the Phoenix Mountain hunt, provoking him over the archery display and later condemning his use of demonic cultivation to claim prey. When he insults Wei WuXian's parentage, Jiang YanLi intervenes and rejects the premise that her brother broke any hunting rule. (Chapters 69–70)

Hundred Holes

Jin ZiXun contracts the Hundred Holes curse and assumes without proof that Wei WuXian is responsible. Jin GuangShan encourages him to use Wei WuXian's journey to Jin Ling's full-month celebration as an opportunity to attack. At Qiongqi Path, Jin ZiXun leads the ambush and refuses to stand down even when Jin ZiXuan arrives and urges a pause. (Chapter 76)

Death and the true curse

When Wen Ning runs out of control and kills Jin ZiXuan, Jin ZiXun orders the archers to fire. Wen Ning immediately seizes him by the throat, and Jin ZiXun dies in the ensuing violence. Much later, Su She admits that he placed the curse because he hated Jin ZiXun's arrogance, confirming that Wei WuXian had been falsely accused. (Chapters 76 and 104)

Appearance and personality

Jin ZiXun is described as tall and broad, with somewhat dark skin and a booming voice. His conduct is consistently haughty: he provokes Wei WuXian, belittles Su She for getting lost at Koi Tower, and assumes his own accusation requires no investigation. (Chapters 69 and 72)

Abilities and cultivation

Jin ZiXun is a LanlingJin cultivator capable of participating in major hunts and commanding clan disciples. The corpus does not establish a named personal technique, spiritual weapon, or exact cultivation rank, so his principal demonstrated power is the armed authority of his sect position.

Hunting and command

At Phoenix Mountain he competes for prey and treats the hunt as a measure of clan prestige. At Qiongqi Path he leads armed cultivators, controls the road, and attempts to force Wei WuXian into surrendering information about the Hundred Holes curse. These actions show field experience and command, but not superiority in a direct contest with the story's elite cultivators. (Chapters 69 and 76)

The curse weakens him physically and narrows his judgment. Because he assumes Wei WuXian is responsible, he organizes an ambush around accusation rather than verified evidence. The resulting force can create a standoff, yet it cannot control Wen Ning or prevent Jin ZiXuan's death once the confrontation escalates.
