Tiffani
Tiffani is an ancient Totem-ranked vampire whose clash with Karl opens an anomaly into the Chaos Plane. The accident lets Supreme Lady Matilda reclaim her despite an earlier noninterference agreement, drawing Tiffani into the Darklight Host as the Chaos Dragon's reluctant assistant. She remains proud and independently capable even while Matilda's foresight, summons, and teasing constrain her freedom.
Biography
A deadlocked battle delivers her to the Chaos Dragon
Tiffani meets Karl as an opponent in a divinely isolated battle where her Death Magic and his Void power condense until they create a Chaos Plane anomaly. Neither can cleanly overpower the other before the anomaly draws Supreme Lady Matilda, whom Tiffani clearly fears and with whom she had arranged to remain apart. Matilda argues that entering the Chaos Plane violated that agreement and removes Tiffani from the battlefield. Repeated time loops return Tiffani to the deadlock long enough for her to flee as mist, but each escape fails until Matilda extracts her, turning an attempted contest with Karl into loss of independence under a much stronger patron. (Chapters 914–915)
Matilda subsequently marks Tiffani as hers, summons her through Chaos portals, and adds her to the Cyhosasa branch of the Darklight Host. The relationship is coercive enough to include a labeled collar, magical leash, imposed clothing, and punishments based on futures Matilda foresees rather than events Tiffani remembers choosing. Yet Tiffani continues to speak as a council figure, challenge Karl's nature, and negotiate how others address her. She becomes an assistant rather than a broken captive: embarrassed by Matilda's treatment and wary of her plans, but still able to perform guild errands and represent their branch. (Chapters 994–995, 1023–1032, 1059, and 1135–1153)
Rivalry settles into wary guild cooperation
Tiffani's later encounters with Karl become practical rather than murderous. She obtains Matilda's requested portrait with Rae and Cara, attends Darklight Host gatherings, and enters the guild arena with four other vampires. Their agility lets them survive a prolonged Totem-rank fight against an Oathbreaker Demon, and victory puts Tiffani in an excellent mood until Karl's presence reminds her of their history. When a prince unwittingly offers dangerous blood wine, she prevents the joke from escalating and describes Karl precisely: their fates oppose each other, but they are not enemies. Karl then gives her an agility-focused blade, acknowledging her as a fellow guild combatant rather than a target. (Chapters 1023–1024 and 1282–1288)
Appearance and personality
Tiffani is a pale female vampire roughly human in height; in a group portrait, humanoid Rae is only a little taller. She wears a black toga patterned with diamonds like a midsummer sky when first seen after Matilda claims her, then is repeatedly forced into frilled dresses and other outfits chosen by the Chaos Dragon. Her exact hair and eye colors are not established in the scoped evidence. (Chapters 994 and 1023)
She is formal, proud, and acutely conscious of dignity, particularly because Matilda treats her as a favorite doll or pet despite her age and rank. Fear and exasperation do not erase her nerve: she challenges Karl directly, fights a matched Totem opponent before a crowd, and can laugh at a difficult magical restriction. Her warning about the blood wine and her careful statement that Karl is not an enemy also show judgment beneath the hostility. (Chapters 914–915, 995, 1059, 1135–1139, and 1283–1286)
Abilities and class
Tiffani is a Totem-ranked vampire with exceptional regeneration, speed, and durability. In her first battle she withstands sustained Void power, flames, and consecrated ground long enough to create a deadlock; another observer identifies her as possibly belonging to the ancient Council of Ancients, but that origin remains an informed theory rather than Tiffani's own confirmation. Sunlight does not visibly harm her during the battle. Her regeneration is powerful rather than limitless: the continuing contest damages her, drains energy, and cannot prevent a stronger Chaos Dragon from taking control of the situation. (Chapter 914)
Her magic interacts with Karl's Void power as Death Magic, and their concentrated energies can liquefy into a planar anomaly. The corpus demonstrates the result but does not explain Tiffani's activation method, ordinary range, or whether she can intentionally open such a passage. She can turn into mist to disengage and uses portals associated with Matilda's summons, though the latter are not established as Tiffani's independent spell. (Chapters 914–915, 994–995, and 1023)
In the arena, Tiffani leads or accompanies an agility-based vampire team whose speed lets them evade and exchange blows with an Oathbreaker Demon so fast that many spectators cannot follow the action. She later accepts the Blade of Glancing Blows because its agility and defensive parry bonuses suit that style. No rank progression beyond Totem, named personal attack, or later upgrade is shown, and Karl judges after his own Totem advancement that the balance between them has shifted decisively in his favor. (Chapters 995 and 1282–1288)
Relationships
- Supreme Lady Matilda: Matilda reclaims Tiffani after the Chaos Plane anomaly and makes her an assistant in the Cyhosasa branch. Her fondness is genuine but possessive, mixing protection and guild status with magical restraint, humiliating outfits, and foresight-based punishment. (Chapters 914–915, 994–995, 1032, 1059, and 1135)
- Karl: Their first meeting nearly kills both of them and produces the anomaly that costs Tiffani her freedom. Later meetings settle into wary cooperation, and Tiffani explicitly distinguishes fated opposition from personal enmity. (Chapters 914–915, 995, and 1285–1288)
- Cara and Rae: Matilda sends Tiffani to obtain a portrait with the Chaos Badger and Totem child of the Spider Goddess. The errand embarrasses her but also connects Matilda's branch to Karl's unusual beasts. (Chapters 1023–1024)
- Azov: The Immortal Regent recognizes the humor and danger in Karl's blood-wine gift and helps prevent a visiting prince from misunderstanding Tiffani's reaction. (Chapter 1285)
Items
Tiffani's latest named weapon is the Totem-ranked, Epic-grade Blade of Glancing Blows. It grants agility, improves parrying while actively defending, and increases sharpness with the wielder's rank, matching her high-speed fighting style. Karl gives it to her after she objects that blood wine is an inadequate diplomatic gift; it is not a scoped item page in the approved link brief. (Chapter 1288)
