Nikki

Nikki is a Special Forces cadet whose successful bond with a Moor Cat awakens the Tiger Monk class and a close-range partnership.

Biography

Earning a Moor Cat bond and an unusual class

Nikki spends nearly a year with the other cadets trying to establish beast bonds before Karl’s guidance tokens clarify the process. During the selection trial she endures several minutes of exertion and play-fighting until the kitten accepts her and vanishes into her mental space. The System then identifies Nikki as a Tiger Monk, distinguishing her from the Beast Rangers selected around her. (Chapters 618, 626)

The bond is not created by the token alone: Nikki later explains that a candidate needs the potential and must convince the beast to agree. This makes the outcome a mutual choice supported by guidance, not ownership imposed on the Moor Cat. Her willingness to persevere through repeated failed attempts and a physically demanding final test establishes the discipline behind the class awakening. (Chapters 618, 626)

Learning when to merge and when to fight together

Nikki begins with Energy Strike and Merger. Merger increases her power while the cat is inside her mental space, but her future skill tree also supports joint fighting; she correctly infers that merging is for recovery or situations where two bodies are impractical, not a permanent replacement for partnership. Karl assigns her higher-level unarmed and coordination training because her Special Forces fundamentals already exceed those of the younger recruits. (Chapter 624)

Training confirms that Tiger Monk greatly increases Nikki’s durability while the Moor Cat can withstand ordinary training weapons except for vulnerable head and eye strikes. She participates in team-defence exercises and receives advancement support; by the later mass training session she has already reached Awakened rank ahead of most of her cadet team. No subsequent class evolution or new bond skill is shown. (Chapters 625, 633, 685)

Appearance and personality

Nikki is a young female cadet; the corpus gives no reliable hair, eye, height, or uniform detail. She is persistent, physically disciplined, and thoughtful about the mechanics of partnership. Rather than maximizing Merger indiscriminately, she reasons about her cat’s recovery and the value of fighting side by side. She also explains the difficult bonding process openly to less experienced trainees. (Chapters 618, 624–626)

Abilities and class

Tiger Monk is an unarmed combat class with heightened durability and a Moor Cat bond. Energy Strike is Nikki’s basic offensive technique, though its energy type, range, and cost are not specified. Merger draws on the cat’s presence in her mental space to boost Nikki’s power; it is most useful when the cat is recovering or cannot safely fight outside. The boost’s magnitude and duration are unknown. (Chapters 624–625)

Her bond also allows the Moor Cat to enter and leave the mental space, while later skill-tree options promise coordinated combat that she has not yet demonstrated. The cat remains vulnerable to severe head or eye injuries despite its toughness, and Nikki’s own durability does not make her invulnerable. She reaches Awakened rank through training and external advancement support, with no named post-advancement skill confirmed. (Chapters 618, 624–625, 633, 685)

Relationships

Nikki’s central relationship is the consensual partnership with her unnamed Moor Cat. Karl guides the bond and designs her training, while Ophelia handles offensive coordination. Nikki shares dormitory and training life with Sybil, Joan, and the other cadets, explaining the bond process when their different programs meet. (Chapters 618, 624–626)
