Dora
Dora is a young half-Orc, half-Green Dragon Rebirth Shaman whose permanent material-creation magic makes her the missing link between the Darklight Host's raw resources, sculptors, and Runecrafters.
Biography
A search for work becomes a test of permanent creation magic
Dora meets Karl when Bishop Misty brings him to her mother Beth's healing practice in Gazdri. Recently advanced to Royal rank and eager to work, Dora presents a full Rebirth Shaman skill tree centered on Nature and Earth creation rather than the healing profession her mother taught her. Karl needs someone who can supply crafters with stable raw material, and Dora can create wood, stone, metal, and gems that remain after the spell ends. Their needs align, but he still asks her to prove that the products will accept high-rank magic before offering a permanent place. (Chapter 859)
Dora creates a silver bracelet and reads the Darklight Host contract carefully, asking whether guild lodging would prevent her from eventually marrying and starting a family. Karl's runes push her material beyond its nominal Royal rank before it reaches its limit, proving exceptional mana compatibility. She signs only after the successful test and equips the resulting Circlet of Crafter's Luck, which unexpectedly shifts from bracelet to choker because her wrist slots are already occupied. The awkward first item leaves her embarrassed, but it also secures generous employment and demonstrates that her conjured metal can support serious enchantment. (Chapter 860)
Runecrafting enthusiasm becomes an industrial role in Drodh
Karl transfers [Apprentice Runesmithing] privately, and Dora reacts by practicing through the night. She experiments with different woods to identify their mana conductivity, corrects broken rune links by smoothing the created surface, and produces a stack of practice rings before formal instruction has begun. Her enthusiasm creates rapid practical growth, but the early failures also clarify the craft's limits: knowing the trade does not replace study, and her creation spell is better at smooth forms and repeating patterns than complex sculpture. (Chapters 860–862)
At the Drodh Guild House, Dora's Green Dragon heritage draws Lotus to her immediately, while the workshop assigns her to make base items and engrave pieces prepared by more specialized sculptors. Royal-rank practice goods, utility stock, and bags of gems soon enter the Darklight Host's shop pipeline because of her work. This division of labor removes pressure from Lotus and the existing crafters: Dora creates flawless high-grade material, other artisans shape it, and Runecrafters add saleable effects. (Chapters 863–864, 888, and 922)
By the workshop's expansion, Dora works alongside the Orcish Druids Larry and Darryl as one of the principal suppliers of Earth- and Nature-created materials. Her Royal rank lets her make stronger and more varied stock than the Commander-rank Druids, while Karl reports that all three are close to advancement. The corpus does not show Dora's breakthrough, so her latest confirmed state remains a Royal Rebirth Shaman and apprentice Runecrafter preparing to supply a larger facility. (Chapters 947, 1108, and 1130)
Appearance and personality
Dora is eighteen at introduction and roughly Lotus's size. She has an Orcish face, green scales, and a long lizard-like tail, giving her the appearance of a small Orcish dragonkin rather than a human. The corpus does not specify her hair, eyes, horns, exact height, or transformed dragon form. She favors multiple colored metal bracelets and is briefly shown in a black evening gown during her recruitment trip. (Chapters 859–862)
She is bookish, polite, ambitious, family-minded, and intensely enthusiastic about attractive craftwork. Dora arrives reading, apologizes repeatedly for misidentifying Karl, scrutinizes an employment contract instead of signing blindly, and immediately asks how future family plans fit the arrangement. Once she learns Runesmithing, caution gives way to sleepless experimentation and delight in glowing wooden runes. She is sensitive to teasing about her first enchanted accessory but resilient enough to continue working. (Chapters 859–862)
Abilities and class
Dora is a Royal-ranked Rebirth Shaman with Monarch-rank bloodline potential and a full System skill tree. The source names her class and affinities but does not explain what “Rebirth” changes mechanically, show a resurrection ability, or document her earlier advancement. By Chapter 1130 she is close to another breakthrough, but no completed Monarch advancement appears in the supplied corpus. (Chapters 859 and 1130)
Nature and Earth material creation
Dora creates permanent plants, wood, stone, metal, and gems rather than temporary conjurations that disperse when a spell ends. The products are not innately magical, but she can strengthen them to her current rank, and their high mana compatibility makes them valuable bases for runes and other enchantments. She supplies Royal-grade utility items and uncut gems in bulk, allowing artisans who cannot create matter to focus on shaping and finishing it. (Chapters 859–860, 863–864, and 922)
The spell is flexible in substance but limited in detail. A repeating scale pattern on a bracelet pushes Dora's control, and she normally produces smooth surfaces, flawless branches, or roughly polished gem forms for sculptors and Runecrafters to refine. Her Royal rank also caps routine output below Overlord and Monarch requests. Karl can force unusually compatible material beyond its nominal level during a single enchantment, but that does not make Dora an Overlord-rank creator. (Chapters 860, 922, and 1130)
Apprentice Runesmithing and minor healing
Karl grants [Apprentice Runesmithing] through [Follow Me, Little One] after Dora joins the Guild. The transfer supplies a complete basic trade, but skill level and System progression still matter; she must practice character links, study compound runes, and learn which created materials carry mana efficiently. Her demonstrated results include Royal-rank practice items and utility goods, not mastery of Karl's more advanced Runeforging. (Chapters 860–864 and 888)
Dora also has minor healing knowledge and four years of first-aid study under Beth. She explicitly rejects healing as a profession, and no scene shows a distinctive healing spell or battlefield application. Her latest professional power remains the interaction between permanent creation and Runesmithing rather than an undocumented expansion of her Shaman healing tree. (Chapter 859)
Relationships
- Karl: Dora's recruiter, Runecrafting teacher, and evaluator. He recognizes the industrial value of her creation magic, tests it before hiring her, and places her in a workshop where other specialists compensate for her limited sculpting detail. (Chapters 859–863 and 922)
- Beth: Dora's mother and first-aid teacher. Beth supports the job opportunity, reviews the contract, and teases Dora's unusual Green Dragon and Orc heritage without questioning her competence. (Chapters 859–860)
- Bishop Misty: Beth's childhood friend and the person who brings Karl to Gazdri. Misty's recommendation opens Dora's path into the Darklight Host even though she initially expects Karl to recruit a different relative. (Chapters 859–862)
- Lotus: A Green Dragon High Priestess who immediately recognizes Dora as kin and enthusiastically welcomes her. Dora's material production later reduces the demand placed on Lotus's own Nature creation. (Chapters 861–863)
- Larry and Darryl: Orcish Druids and fellow material suppliers. Their Nature magic and inscription skills complement Dora's higher-rank access to Earth, metal, and gems, and the three inspect the expanded workshop together. (Chapters 862–863 and 1130)
Items
Dora has no standalone notable item in the generated item catalog. Her enchanted Circlet of Crafter's Luck, practice rings, and created materials remain personal equipment or workshop stock rather than scoped item articles.
