Carnage
Carnage is a name attached to two closely related but not conclusively identical Wrath Demons. One is the named final boss of a Nara dungeon and the model for Dana's Epic Golem; the other is a Legendary security chief in the Demonic Realms. Karl cannot determine whether the latter is the dungeon boss represented in person or the boss's son-in-law with the same name, and the article preserves that uncertainty.
Biography
A dungeon champion rewards challengers who honor the duel
The Nara dungeon presents Carnage as a named Wrath Demon final boss built around small-number, high-damage combat. Its ordinary strategy discourages attacks from behind because Wrath Demons may abandon the tank to punish the insult. Karl instead follows Drodh dueling custom and challenges Carnage alone without golems, which causes the boss to display far more speed than the regular expedition expects and turns the encounter into a formal trial rather than a routine group kill. (Chapters 1261 and 1264)
Carnage laughs through the fight, uses a flaming barrier, and smashes apart both [Consecrated Ground] and the dungeon floor when Karl tries to trap him in swamp water. He has little healing inside the dungeon, so Karl's accumulating damage and the Haint Claw's soul drain eventually defeat him. The dungeon immediately restores Carnage for the next challenger, and successful solo victories award the Mythic Duellist title and Carnage's Challenge Gloves. The champion's defeat therefore expands the dungeon into a repeatable training and prestige opportunity rather than ending his existence. (Chapters 1264–1267 and 1295)
A summoned replica carries the champion's style into later battles
After observing Carnage, Karl and Dana can choose his form through [Epic Golem]. Dana uses Carnage replicas as large, durable frontline constructs with knockdown skills that combine well with [Tribulation Chains], while Karl later summons the same form in a separate fight. These golems are magical duplicates based on a known dungeon boss, not evidence that the original Carnage leaves the dungeon or personally serves the Darklight Host. Their rank and duration are governed by the summoning skill and caster, not by the independent Legendary security chief. (Chapters 1590 and 1644)
The name also becomes a benchmark for durability and single-combat damage in later dungeon discussions. A weapon called the Porcine Cleaver of Carnage and ordinary uses of the word “carnage” do not establish ownership or appearances by either Demon. The only sourced continuity is that Karl can summon a recognizable replica and remembers the dungeon champion when he meets the security chief. (Chapters 1685, 1720, and 1739)
A Legendary security chief chooses a fight over a fine
In the Demonic Realms, a blood-red Wrath Demon named Carnage heads a prison security force after losing a bet that committed him to the post for five years. He arrests Karl for entering a collapsed prison space, questions him under mana suppression, and investigates Karl's claim instead of beating out a confession. When the evidence clears Karl of releasing the missing prisoner, Carnage converts part of the trespass fine into a two-minute fight, revealing that combat is both his pleasure and the currency most likely to change his judgment. (Chapters 1641–1644)
Carnage overwhelms Karl and his Oathbreaker golems with base speed and strength, punches through Karl's chest, then happily wrestles summoned replicas of himself while Karl regenerates. He later admits that he did not use his Fire Domain and already knows [Behemoth's Vitality], indicating that the spectacle was far below his full power. Karl gives him a Golem Summoning Stone so he can spar without injuring subordinates. Carnage identifies himself as an old friend of the World Dragon and explains that “the Carnage who wants to be a God” is his father-in-law, but this still leaves Karl unsure whether the security chief is the dungeon original, its namesake son-in-law, or another linked manifestation. (Chapters 1644–1646)
Appearance and personality
The dungeon Carnage is a massive winged Wrath Demon with an enormous axe and a physique he displays before duels. The security chief is likewise a large Wrath Demon, nearly five metres tall in the training yard, with blood-red skin; at work he wears clashing blue pants, no shirt, and a badge on a gold chain. Their shared species and fighting style support a connection but do not prove bodily identity. (Chapters 1264, 1641, and 1644)
Both presentations delight in worthy combat. The dungeon boss laughs while adapting to Karl's traps, while the security chief is irritable when confined to administrative work but becomes joyful as soon as a real challenge appears. The latter also demonstrates fairness beneath the aggression: he verifies Karl's story, releases him when it checks out, protects his fidelity to an unnamed wife, and accepts a renewable sparring tool in place of further punishment. (Chapters 1264, 1642–1645)
Abilities and class
The dungeon Carnage is a high-speed axe duelist with wings, a fire barrier, powerful ground-smashing attacks, and limited in-dungeon healing. His speed rises or is revealed when formally challenged, making ordinary encounter expectations unreliable. He can destroy terrain and persistent ground effects rather than merely resist them, but attrition, holy damage, and soul drain can still wear him down. Dungeon restoration recreates him after defeat. (Chapters 1264–1266)
Epic Golem versions reproduce Carnage as a large, durable Wrath Demon with knockdown-oriented skills. They are explicitly summons and can be duplicated or recast, so their destruction has no demonstrated effect on either named identity. The corpus does not show whether every dungeon-boss skill transfers to the golem form. (Chapters 1590 and 1644)
The security Carnage is Legendary rank and vastly stronger than Immortal Karl. Even without visible buffs he tracks teleports, parries multiple fast golems, and lands a fatal chest strike; he also knows [Behemoth's Vitality], which reduces damage, and says he could have used a Legendary Fire Domain. His restraint is the largest limit shown: he deliberately fights below full capability for entertainment. No higher rank is established, and he says he intends to remain a Legend rather than become a god. (Chapters 1642–1645)
Relationships
- Karl: Karl defeats the dungeon champion, later survives the security chief's wager, and gives the latter a renewable source of sparring partners. The security chief respects Karl chiefly because he makes life more interesting. (Chapters 1264–1267 and 1641–1645)
- Dana: Dana defeats the dungeon version in a duel and later summons Carnage replicas as Epic Golems, adapting his durability to group control. (Chapters 1264–1267 and 1590)
- Rae: Rae enjoys the Wrath Demon dungeon and helps establish the destructive combat context in which Karl first challenges Carnage. (Chapters 1261–1264)
- The World Dragon: The security chief calls the World Dragon an old friend who has shared many useful abilities with him. The relationship applies to that Legendary Demon and cannot by itself identify the dungeon boss. (Chapter 1645)
Items
No item is scoped to Carnage as a standalone catalog article. Carnage's Challenge Gloves are dungeon rewards rather than the boss's carried equipment; each raises base Strength and Agility by 150 percent and adds fire damage equal to 100 percent of base skill damage. The security chief receives an Epic spear as partial payment and a Peerless Immortal Golem Summoning Stone from Karl, but neither becomes a scoped Carnage item. The Porcine Cleaver of Carnage is a separate loot weapon whose name does not prove custody. (Chapters 1266, 1643, 1645, and 1720)
