A dragon child joins the household

Button first appears as a young dragon in Dana's care while Karl meditates. She remains overnight, swims in the Tiny World lake in dragon form, and quickly becomes part of the household's children rather than a temporary visitor, with the adults supervising her play and accommodating her need for rest. (Chapters 1193–1198)

Button accompanies Lotus through wedding gatherings, kitchen adventures, naps, and later instruction. Adults explicitly count her among the children and adjust dungeon schedules around her rest, giving her a protected developmental place in which curiosity and dragon-form play do not become obligations to join adult combat.
