Shim Samho

Shim Samho is the identity used by an imperial notary who presides over the Fairy Dance Lee family's duel trial. The body is later revealed to be a remotely controlled terminal of Lust, not Lust's main body; its death ends that particular connection without destroying the grimoire.

Biography

East Continent and the Northern War

Shim Samho arrives as the imperial notary assigned to the duel over control of the Fairy Dance Lee family. She explains the trial's legal force, recognizes Theodore Miller's qualification through the family's lost technique, protects Lee Seol during the proceedings, enforces the rules, and declares Theodore's victory binding under imperial authority. Months later she visits Theodore privately, displays knowledge of western magic far beyond an ordinary eastern official, and removes the cloth suppressing her supernatural allure. Gluttony protects Theodore from the resulting mental domination, allowing him to strike the body fatally. Lust then identifies the woman as a disposable terminal controlled from elsewhere; after the remote connection fails, Shim Samho's already-dead body collapses and is destroyed by Theodore. The corpus does not establish how much independent identity or consent the human terminal possessed before Lust's control. (Chapters 244–250)

Appearance and personality

Shim Samho wears old-fashioned clothes embroidered with a moving golden snake and hides her face beneath enchanted black or cotton cloth. Her uncovered beauty and scent function as mental interference severe enough to overwhelm a master. In public she is playful but firm, using a red fan to conduct the duel and sharply stopping attempts to bend its procedure. Whether that manner belongs to the original woman, Lust's performance, or both is unresolved. (Chapters 244–250)

Magic, abilities, and martial skills

The terminal carries Lust's myth-grade “Burning Carnal Desire,” which attacks reason through sight, scent, and sexual compulsion. The face covering suppresses or conceals that effect. Shim Samho also has an ominous presence and extensive magical knowledge, but Lust says the terminal has no direct combat ability comparable to the other Seven Sins. The body can briefly move after fatal damage only while the remote link persists; it is not independently immortal and dies when that connection is cut. (Chapters 245 and 248–250)
