Paul Miguel
Paul Miguel is Hung Jo's henchman and one of Gustav's earliest serious mixedblood opponents. His death teaches Gustav a key requirement for acquiring bloodlines.
Biography
Hung Jo's enforcer
Paul follows Hung Jo with Ben Rao, restraining Gustav Oslov during public abuse and attacking when Gustav finally resists. Gustav's new perception lets him evade the paired assault, but Paul remains the stronger transformed combatant and later volunteers to punish Gustav on the rooftop, expecting Zulu-rank force to restore Hung Jo's authority. (Chapters 11–12 and 21–23)
Death and bloodline acquisition
Paul transforms into a large bull-like fighter and initially pressures Gustav with superior strength, forcing him to combine limited bursts of speed with careful counters. The fight ends with Paul mortally wounded. When Gustav touches the unusual glowing crimson blood at his neck, the System confirms that an acquisition requirement has been met; Gustav takes Paul's bloodline after death, making the encounter foundational to his understanding of the System. (Chapters 23–25)
Appearance and personality
Paul is around six feet tall in ordinary form, lanky, handsome, and styled like a playboy. In transformation he grows to roughly seven feet with a massive bovine upper body and thick arms. He is loyal to Hung Jo, eager to dominate weaker students, and confident that rank and transformation guarantee victory. (Chapters 11 and 23–24)
Bloodlines and abilities
Paul's Zulu-ranked bloodline transforms his upper body into a powerful bull-like form, greatly increasing strength, mass, durability, and charging force. Crimson-glowing eyes, fists, and blood accompany the state. His power exceeds Gustav's ordinary strength at the time, but his attacks are linear enough for Gustav's short speed bursts to evade and counter. (Chapters 23–25)
