Uto's horns
History
After Seris defeats Uto, she removes both of his horns and gives the pair to Arthur. Arthur gives one horn to Sylvie, who absorbs its mana, while he absorbs the other; most of the mana intended for Arthur is diverted into the dormant acclorite that later manifests as Regis. (Chapters 178, 190, 194–195, and 258)
Properties and use
Each horn retains a dense reservoir of Uto's mana and aspects of his lingering influence. Absorbing them contributes separately to Arthur's and Sylvie's development but is not a clean transfer of Uto's combat abilities. Residue from Arthur's horn becomes one influence on the acclorite's eventual manifestation as Regis; that origin does not make Regis identical to Uto or either horn. (Chapters 190–195 and 256–258)
