Silverlight
History
Aldir summons Silverlight in several forms during his separation from the Indrath order and later gives the weapon to Arthur as proof of his chosen death. Arthur carries it until the weapon reacts to Eleanor. Wren Kain IV explains that Silverlight has released its prior bond, selected Eleanor, and reshaped into an unstrung bow suited to her. (Chapters 347, 395–406, 435, and 442)
Properties and use
Silverlight can appear and disappear through a bond, change among rapier, kopis, spear, and bow forms, return to a wielder's hand, and channel mana into attacks or shields. Its choices matter: it can select a new wielder, alter shape for that person, and refuse to respond when Eleanor has not yet reached the required accord. Calling it sentient does not establish human speech, but it requires more care than treating it as passive property. (Chapters 395–406, 442, 471–479, and 512–513)
