Djinn keystones
History
Arthur receives the first heavy black cube after a djinn projection judges him worthy. Later ruins provide the second and fourth, while the third was removed by rebel djinn and preserved by Mordain Asclepius. Together the four form a designed sequence leading toward insight into Fate, but each contains a separate mental trial rather than a repeated lesson. (Chapters 282–309, 367–431, and 468–489)
The first keystone leads Arthur to Aroa's Requiem, whose acquired form restores nonliving objects but cannot revive the dead. The second teaches Realmheart insight into mana and aether interaction. The third yields King's Gambit, dividing and accelerating his thought. The fourth traps his consciousness in reconstructed lives until work with Sylvie and Regis opens the perception needed to encounter Fate. These insights are abilities learned through the relics, not items to catalog separately. (Chapters 300–309, 394–431, 468, and 476–489)
Properties and use
Each matte cube draws the user's consciousness into an internal realm whose puzzle is meant to produce insight rather than transmit instructions. Solving a keystone consumes or crumbles the physical relic. The fourth has an explicit failsafe: a user unable to reach its insight cannot voluntarily leave, leaving the physical body vulnerable. (Chapters 282–309, 367, 468, and 476–489)
