Caera's brother's dagger

History

Arthur finds the concealed bone-white dagger among the remains of ascenders killed in a Relictombs zone. Caera recognizes the Denoir medallion on it and identifies it as the weapon of her deceased brother Sevren. Arthur hands it to Caera; she later lends it back with the medallion while expecting its eventual return. After Arthur uses its hilt to shatter a mirror phantom, Caera finally accepts and stores the family keepsake. (Chapters 267, 276, 280, 311, and 356)

Properties and use

The dagger is a practical white-bladed weapon and a means of identifying Sevren's fate. Its strongest narrative function is evidentiary and personal: possession connects Arthur to the zone where Sevren died, while the Denoir emblem establishes provenance. It has no demonstrated sentience or unique power comparable to the aetheric relics Arthur carries. (Chapters 267–311 and 356–358)
