Acclorite
History
Wren refines a rare black mineral and implants it in Arthur's palm, explaining that it will absorb experiences and influences until it develops into the weapon best suited to him. It remains dormant through Arthur's training and war, incorporating impressions associated with Arthur, Sylvie, Sylvia, and Uto before manifesting after Arthur's near-death transformation. (Chapters 126, 164, 186, and 255–258)
Properties and use
Processed acclorite adapts rather than taking a form chosen on demand by either artificer or recipient. In Arthur's case, the result is Regis, a sentient companion able to think, choose, argue, and act independently. The acclorite is therefore part of Regis's origin, but Regis himself is not Arthur's property and should not be cataloged as a carried weapon item after sentience manifests. (Chapters 256–260)
