Taegen

Taegen is a powerful Alacryan ascender whose priority during the convergence zone is protecting Caera.

Biography

Recorded appearances

Taegen enters a crowded convergence zone beside Caera and Arian, wary of rival ascenders and especially of Grey's concealed strength. When escalating waves force temporary cooperation, Taegen maintains his protective role rather than competing for command. He guards Caera, pushes her away from a titan's strike, and continues fighting after the creature crushes or severely injures him. The ordeal reveals both the strength and limit of that loyalty: quick action saves the person he protects, but even high-level melee runes cannot control the titan or match Grey's abnormal capacity. Taegen survives with a clearer demonstration of steadfast service than of independent ambition. (Chapters 258, 273, 276, and 278–280)

Appearance and personality

Taegen is a large, powerful male ascender whose positioning visibly marks him as Caera's guard. He is vigilant, suspicious of unknown strength, and willing to absorb injury to protect her. (Chapters 258, 273, and 276–280)

Relationships

  • Caera Denoir: Person Taegen prioritizes and physically protects during the convergence battle. (Chapters 258, 273, and 276–280)
  • Arian: Fellow protector and survivor whose cooperation helps sustain their group. (Chapters 276 and 278–280)

Mana, aether, and abilities

Taegen uses high-level melee runes, enhanced strength, and close combat powerful enough to hold large Relictombs creatures briefly. The titan still overwhelms him, and no personal aether art is shown. (Chapters 273 and 278–280)
