Radix
Radix is the Grandus titan lord whose blunt physical testing helps force the Great Eight to judge Arthur on demonstrated change.
Biography
Recorded appearances
Radix of Clan Grandus greets Arthur Leywin by testing his strengthened body, manipulating his own density and extending his senses through ambient mana to inspect Arthur and Regis. Convinced that Arthur has crossed beyond ordinary humanity, he calls the vote that recognizes Clan Leywin and expresses interest in studying that transformation. Radix later joins the other great lords against Khaernos, armors himself in black diamond, seizes the rogue basilisk physically, and recovers behind crystalline scabs. When Agrona's plan tears open the sky, Radix bluntly challenges both Morwenna's refusal to accept the danger and Kezess's account of how completely the Great Eight have misunderstood the rebellion. Appearance and personality
Radix is a bearded titan with flint-black eyes, stone-rough hands, broad chest, and a height that changes as he adjusts his body. Gemstones decorate his belt, and his direct, physically intrusive curiosity matches a blunt sense of humor and little patience for ceremony. (Chapters 496–497 and 515–519)
Relationships
- Arthur Leywin: Radix tests Arthur rather than accepting Kezess's judgment, then sponsors the vote recognizing him as head of a new asuran race and clan. (Chapters 496–497)
- Regis: Radix inspects Regis physically and senses the Destruction rune within him. The encounter is examination, not ownership or mentorship. (Chapters 496–497)

Mana, aether, and abilities
Radix can alter his body's height, weight, and density, extend perception through mana, cover himself in black-diamond armor, heal wounds with crystalline scabs, and sink through stone. His physical strength lets him restrain Khaernos directly. These are titan mana arts; no personal aether ability is established. (Chapters 496–497 and 518–519)
