Loreni is the Maerin resident whose hospitality and local knowledge give Grey a quiet entry into ordinary Alacryan society.

Recorded appearances

Loreni helps receive Arthur Leywin, traveling as Grey, after he exits the Relictombs near Maerin Town. She brings food, arranges lodging and transport, explains the visiting Stormcove recruiter, and provides the social forms that let an unknown ascender pass through town without immediate suspicion. As Mayla's older sister, she also accompanies the younger girl through another bestowment. Mayla's rare Sentry emblem brings opportunity but likely separation and danger, and the sisters embrace in tears rather than treating the result as uncomplicated triumph. Appearance and personality

Loreni is Mayla's older sister; the text establishes their resemblance and Mayla's longer hair but gives Loreni few other stable physical details.
