Gentry
Biography
Recorded appearances
Gentry serves the Dicathian leadership as the specialist responsible for interrogating dangerous prisoners held beneath the flying castle. He maintains the cells containing Uto and Rahdeas and uses magically induced sensations and hallucinations to break resistance. After Rahdeas finally delivers his cryptic poem, Gentry discovers that both prisoners and his assistant Duve have been killed by curses. He is questioned about the breach while grieving Duve and trying to explain how the secured dungeon was compromised. (Chapters 191 and 204–208)
Appearance and personality
Gentry is an elderly, thin, hunched man with a hooked nose. His profession makes him methodical, severe, and accustomed to controlled cruelty, but his reaction to Duve's death shows real attachment beneath his clinical manner. (Chapters 191 and 207–208)
Relationships
He reports to the Dicathian command and conducts work relevant to Virion and Arthur's war council. Duve is his assistant and the relationship made most personal by loss; Uto and Rahdeas are prisoners under his control rather than allies. (Chapters 191 and 204–208)
Mana, aether, and abilities
Gentry combines wind and sound magic to create convincing hallucinations and manipulated sensory experiences for interrogation. The supplied corpus does not show a personal aether art or establish him as a front-line combatant. (Chapters 191 and 204–205)
Items
He works with the dungeon's cells and restraint systems, but these are castle infrastructure rather than personal artifacts. No named signature item is established.
