Donna's Black Whip

Donna's Black Whip is the close- and mid-range weapon Donna Longbern uses during her confrontation with Edmund Rice at the academy banquet.

History

The banquet confrontation

Donna manifests the black whip after discovering Edmund opening a portal inside Le Manoir Vert. She uses it in repeated clashes against his paired daggers, then pursues him into the banquet hall when his plan falters. Her restraint around the students and Edmund's temporary physical immunity prevent a decisive early blow, but she later catches him after that evasive skill enters cooldown and knocks him unconscious with a final strike. Properties and functions

• The whip moves with snake-like flexibility and withstands repeated metal-on-metal clashes with Edmund's daggers. A strike that misses him cracks and splits the wooden floor, demonstrating considerable physical force. (Chapters 204–205)
• Donna can make it appear in her hand and direct rapid successive attacks, but the text does not explain whether the weapon is summoned, stored, or formed from her power. (Chapter 204)
• The whip remains a physical attack and passes through Edmund while his shadow-based skill makes him immune to physical blows. Donna succeeds only after that skill's cooldown prevents immediate reuse. (Chapters 205–206)
