Tasos Mallatos is the Union's fourth-ranked, SS-ranked hero and a covert Monolith traitor.

Biography

Betrayal during the covert mission

Tasos joins Monica and Amon on a dangerous operation, presenting himself as the disciplined senior who stops their arguments and insists that the mission comes first. Once hostile elders arrive, he reveals the deception by striking Amon from behind and fighting alongside Mo Jinhao. Tasos helps destroy the core at the center of the operation, survives the ensuing battle with injuries that are later described as manageable, and escapes. The revelation that a hero famous for dagger techniques served the enemy shocks the Union and leaves Monica responsible for reporting the betrayal. (Chapters 272–285)

Appearance and personality

Tasos is a tall, black-haired older man with a light-gray goatee and a white streak in his hair. He initially sounds measured and mission-focused, using that credibility to remain close enough to betray his allies at the decisive moment. (Chapters 272–277)

Powers and abilities

He is explicitly SS rank and fourth on the Hero ranking, renowned for dagger techniques said to mutilate opponents with a look. In the mission he channels enough mana to help destroy a threatening core and remains capable of overpowering Union heads after recovering. The exact mechanics of his dagger art are not shown. (Chapters 272, 280–285)
