Duke Azenoch
Duke Azenoch is the demon ruler behind Morian's arena and the Duke-ranked opponent chosen for the White Reaper's climactic exhibition.
Biography
The arena's final spectacle
Azenoch watches the White Reaper persona used by Ren Dover with growing predatory interest, allowing the arena spectacle to develop around the unusual fighter. He eventually enters the ring himself to the crowd's fanatical acclaim. Ren's other self uses the Eyes of Chronos to evade the Duke's opening speed and then takes control of the exchange, crushing Azenoch's arm and killing him. The intact demon core becomes leverage in later dealings with another Duke, turning the arena ruler's death into a strategic asset. (Chapters 515–533)
Appearance and personality
Azenoch has lustrous black hair, two large horns and long, slender fingers. He carries an overwhelming demonic presence and enjoys the arena crowd's worship with calm vanity, but his savage smile and fixation on an exceptional combatant reveal the violence beneath that composure. (Chapters 515, 530–532)
Powers and abilities
As a Duke-ranked demon, Azenoch possesses immense demonic energy, strength and speed. His first arena attack is fast enough that Ren requires the Eyes of Chronos and his other self's guidance to evade it. Once that predictive advantage closes the speed gap, however, the Duke is physically dominated and his arm compressed beyond recovery. (Chapters 530–532)
