Arnold Kane

Arnold Kane is an intimidating Lock student who begins as Jin Horton's contemptuous follower and later fights alongside the academy group.

Biography

Rivalry and academy service

Arnold initially ignores Ren Dover, blames him for virtual-assessment trouble, and later corners him during the midterms where cameras cannot record the encounter. Ren defeats and humiliates him, but the hostility does not remove Arnold from the Lock's central student circle. He remains close to Jin Horton, partners Amanda during exchange orientation, enters the interspecies tournament, and ultimately helps Troy and Melissa subdue a hooded attacker. His arc is a limited shift from bully and lackey to a functional member of the wider Lock cohort, without an explicit reconciliation with Ren. (Chapters 14–19, 100–161, 403–414)

Appearance and personality

Arnold is tall and heavily muscled, with a bodybuilder's upper body, buzz-cut hair, and a habitual frown. His aura evokes a provoked gorilla. Powers and abilities

Arnold specializes in physical close combat and is treated as one of the opponents worth watching during academy tryouts.
