Jade
Jade, usually addressed as Jade Emperor, is Nine Blade Knight's foremost emperor-level undying and a senior Virtual Universe Company commander. She monitors Luo Feng's genius cohort, leads the army sent to protect him on Earth, and serves as the trusted official who turns his unexpected progress into action at the highest levels of her command.
Biography
Supervising the new genius cohort
Jade arrives in Primal Chaos City on Nine Blade Knight's orders to evaluate the genius-battle cohort after its first decade of training. Before beginning, she reunites with True Yan Emperor and Tong Nan Emperor, former teammates who have survived life-and-death situations together. Their relaxed drinking and teasing reveal a private family of long-lived friends behind her official role, while her assignment shows that Nine Blade trusts her judgment about the future undyings who will eventually enter his command. (Chapter 464)
She observes Bolan, Rong Jun, and the other leading recruits from a distance, initially judging Bolan the clear first prospect and Rong Jun second. Luo Feng appears stalled because he has spent ten years studying without attempting the Heavenly Bridge, and Jade wonders whether his path has reached a dead end. Just as she prepares to leave, he passes the second level as a close-combat fighter despite being trained as a controller. Jade postpones her report, requests a broadcast of his next battle, and watches him clear the third level as well. The evidence forces her to revise her first assessment rather than defend it. (Chapters 464–467)
Monitoring risk and progress
Years later, Jade seeks out True Yan because Luo Feng has remained in the dangerous Blood River World for eighty years. Nine Blade Knight values the young core member even more highly than Bolan, so Jade presses for details instead of accepting the absence as ordinary adventuring. She fears that the Ancient God Ruins' killing aura could overwhelm Luo Feng's mind, but True Yan reveals that the apparent delay has concealed rapid progress through thirty-five of the first thirty-six spatial wonders. Reassured about his development, she leaves the mentor responsible for the knowledge he has withheld from management. (Chapter 529)
Her concern is institutional as well as personal. Jade's responsibility is to preserve and assess a prospect assigned to her knight, while True Yan has the closer teacher–student bond and better information. Their exchange shows her working through that tension directly: she challenges the risk, asks for evidence, and changes her view once Luo Feng's teacher supplies it. No later scene suggests that she claims authority over his training itself. (Chapter 529)
Protecting Luo Feng and reporting his breakthrough
When Yan Zhu's force threatens Luo Feng on Earth, Nine Blade Knight sends an army of more than one thousand undyings under Jade's command. She surrounds Yan Zhu with twenty-six emperor undyings and orders his capture because punishment of a Virtual Universe Company core member belongs to the company, not to a rival faction acting privately. Shi Huo Knight arrives to protect his son and forces the army to submit to his pressure, but Jade still states the basis of her orders and accepts his rebuke without abandoning Nine Blade's claim. Yan Zhu is ultimately sentenced by higher authority, the captive Earthlings are released, and Jade withdraws with her army after the immediate protection mission succeeds. (Chapters 710–711)
Jade then arranges Nine Blade Knight's personal meeting with Luo Feng and escorts the domain lord into the knight's private virtual space. Later, when Luo Feng clears the Heavenly Bridge from the eighth through the thirteenth level in one attempt, she is among the watching undyings and is openly stunned that his controller route succeeds so far beyond the current Primal Region seniors. True Yan warns that rival knights will now pursue his disciple; Jade immediately reports the result to Nine Blade, urges him not to delay, and explains that the genius may otherwise enter another leader's line. Nine Blade listens because she is both his closest emperor subordinate and the officer who organizes his armies, although he chooses his own response. (Chapters 712 and 732–735)
Appearance and personality
Jade is a beautiful woman with long purple hair. She first wears dark-blue armor and later appears in jade-green armor set with translucent gems. Her presence resembles a clear, dreamlike jade statue and seems displaced from ordinary space and time. Her voice is clean and clear. She is warm and playful with True Yan and Tong Nan, but formal and composed on duty; even under Shi Huo Knight's crushing pressure, she explains her orders before bowing to superior rank. (Chapters 464, 529, and 710)
Abilities and progression
Pinnacle emperor undying
Jade is one of the Virtual Universe Company's pinnacle emperor undyings and Nine Blade Knight's strongest subordinate at that rank. She and Tong Nan are described as somewhat weaker than True Yan, who stands unusually close to knight level, but all three are veteran secret-region explorers and former life-and-death teammates. Jade can observe trainees from far away without detection and withstand Shi Huo Knight's presence well enough to answer him, although she cannot resist a knight of his power in direct authority or force. The corpus does not name her combat techniques or show a rank breakthrough. (Chapters 464 and 710)
Command and evaluation
Her most clearly demonstrated strengths are leadership and assessment. Jade commands more than a thousand elite undyings, organizes Nine Blade Knight's armies and other duties, and rapidly convenes emperor-level force around Yan Zhu. She also evaluates genius progress from Heavenly Bridge records and direct observation, reports to Nine Blade, and revises conclusions when unexpected performance supplies better evidence. These are professional capabilities rather than a named supernatural technique. (Chapters 464–467, 710–712, and 733–735)
Relationships
- True Yan Knight: Jade's former life-and-death teammate and close friend. She relies on his knowledge of Luo Feng while representing Nine Blade Knight's institutional interests.
- Tong Nan Emperor: Another former teammate. The narration describes an unacted-upon romantic feeling between Jade and Tong Nan, while both preserve the familiar distance of long-standing partners.
- Nine Blade Knight: Jade is his number-one emperor-level subordinate, army organizer, observer, and trusted reporter.
- Luo Feng: Jade first evaluates him as a recruit, later monitors his dangerous training, commands the force that protects him on Earth, and reports his exceptional bridge record.
- Bolan: Initially the strongest prospect in the cohort Jade supervises; Luo Feng's later progress far exceeds her expectations for Bolan's generation.
