Seron Voulge

Seron Voulge is a high-quality Tier 1 polearm Alice selects while repaying the debt created by Kaleb's archery wager. It becomes Michael's principal early battlefield weapon, combining a long staff with a broad curved blade and giving him reach, cutting power, and strong passive physical enhancements.

History

Alice's equipment package

Alice chooses Seron Voulge because its destructive force exceeds nearly all comparable natural three-star Tier 1 weapons and because its profile complements the Siltang Bow. Michael delays binding it until he releases Tigerfang, avoiding the strain of too many Artifacts. Once bound, the voulge becomes part of the compensation he explicitly recognizes as coming through Kaleb and Alice. (Chapters 104–116, 130)

Untamed Jungle campaigns

Michael learns the unfamiliar polearm through sparring and then uses it against the Blood-eyed Minotaur, Lord Rift opponents, Lionhearts, mercenaries, and the Jungle Expedition. Its staff end supports blunt redirections and strikes while the long blade executes broad cuts and deep thrusts. He repeatedly layers Enhancement and Extraction over it, using the weapon as a delivery frame for his Soultraits rather than attributing those added effects to Seron itself. (Chapters 123–214)

The weapon is eventually outclassed: Tiara's silver spear is already judged superior, and Michael replaces his Tier 1 equipment with the three-star Tier 2 Wyverntooth Spear. The new spear's tooth is ground to resemble Seron Voulge's familiar blade, suggesting continuity in his preferred handling. The corpus does not state whether Seron is sold, stored, gifted, or destroyed after replacement. (Chapters 230, 235)

Abilities and properties

  • Seron Voulge drastically enhances agility and perception and provides a smaller but still meaningful strength increase. (Chapter 104)
  • Its seventy-centimeter black-metal blade is broad, slightly curved, and single-edged, combining a cutting weapon with a long staff for close- and mid-range combat. (Chapter 104)
  • Enhancement can temporarily raise its sharpness and external effects, while Extraction can coat the blade or enter wounds it inflicts; both are Michael's Soultraits, not intrinsic enchantments. (Chapters 199–214)
