Onyx Dragon Armor

The Onyx Dragon Armor is Michael Fang's first complete high-quality Armor Artifact set. Created from Onyx Serpentine scales, its three coordinated pieces emphasize agility and become more protective when used together, carrying Michael through the Saphirelake aptitude assessment and his early Untamed Jungle campaigns.

History

Alice's repayment

Alice Zenovia acquires the armor as part of the equipment used to settle Kaleb's debt to Michael. A Master Enchanter and Grandmaster Tailor collaborated on the set, whose combined construction is stronger than its pieces used separately. Michael binds the chestplate, leg guards, and boots to his War Rune alongside the Siltang Bow. Their external enhancement contributes heavily to his agility and overall physical increase, although the narrative reports the total effect of all his newly bound Artifacts rather than isolating the armor's exact percentage. (Chapters 104–105)

Academy defense

Michael deploys the set throughout the academy assessment. Its enchantments stop Annabelle's arrow without leaving a scratch, blunt Frederik's wind blades and spears, and create small energy barriers around vital areas when fully supplied. The armor also withstands Daniel's Reinforced Sword Qi during training and supports Michael through the Battle Exchange. These scenes establish strong Tier-1 defense rather than universal protection: repeated attacks consume energy, powerful impacts still transmit force, and Alice's extreme cold penetrates its protection despite Enhancement. (Chapters 109–125, 176–192)

Untamed Jungle service and replacement

The armor remains Michael's standard defense during the Blood-eyed Minotaur conflict and the fighting against Adventurers, Mercenaries, and Lionhearts in the Untamed Jungle. He often manifests it together with Seron Voulge and reinforces it through Enhancement before entering close combat. Upon advancing to Tier 2, he judges the set outdated and replaces it with the 3-Star Tier-2 Typhern Leather Armor Set, which offers a similar protection-focused role at his new rank. No later passage states whether he stores, sells, or gives away the Onyx Dragon Armor. (Chapters 142–159, 199–235)

Abilities and properties

  • The set's protection enchantments reinforce the leather and can form small barriers over Michael's vital areas. Alice says their full power protects against most physical attacks, not every attack. (Chapters 104 and 112–114)
  • Its three components are designed for combined use, producing a stronger effect as a complete set than as isolated Artifacts. (Chapter 104)
  • The armor provides broad external enhancement with a strong emphasis on agility. The exact contribution cannot be separated from the Siltang Bow and Michael's other bound equipment in the reported aggregate gains. (Chapters 104–105)
  • Black leather and scales from an Onyx Serpentine give the set its dragon-like appearance. The claim that the creature is a pre-evolution of an Onyx Flood Dragon is explicitly presented as an unconfirmed legend, and the armor is not made from an Onyx Dragon. (Chapter 104)
  • Lesser Enhancement can strengthen both the set and its enchantments, but hostile effects can exceed or bypass the resulting defense; Alice's cold domain remains effective through the armor. (Chapters 111–114 and 192)
