Zira
Zira is the daughter of Valkyria, the Valyr Lordess, and an elite young Valyr warrior whose martial talent compensates for a weak Soultrait. Her friendship and trade contacts with Michael Fang are repeatedly strained by the ambitions of the Valyr clans that govern her people.
Biography
Battle Exchange and Interdimensional Flag War
Zira enters the Kitsun border without permission because she is excited by danger and sees an opportunity for her mother's territory. Her report helps convince the cautious Valyr leadership that the Kitsun Lord is vulnerable, and she later fights beside Michael with graceful, disciplined martial arts despite pushing her inefficient Soultrait hard enough to injure herself. The victory opens a trade relationship: Zira becomes an enthusiastic contact between the Untamed Jungle and the Valyrs, while Michael's ability to strengthen Soultraits offers hope that her race's inherited weakness need not determine its future. Trials, Divinities, and the Titan War
As the Untamed Jungle expands into a Grand Region, Zira is trapped between personal goodwill and her elders' strategy. She continues carrying messages and trade goods, but the Valyr clans plan to exploit Michael's Soultrait support and prepare to oppose him if his territory reaches the Savannah. When the higher-ups finally vote to attack, Zira warns Michael rather than conceal the threat. He sends Berserkers and Warlock Centaurs to deter them and still hopes that Zira and her mother will survive by rejecting the elders, leaving her ultimate choice unresolved. Appearance and personality
Zira is a young Valyr with red skin, mostly flaming black hair, two short black horns and one longer purplish horn, bloody-red leathery wings, and a morningstar-tipped tail. She wears red steel or tight ruby armor. Carefree, tomboyish, proud, and openly excitable, she can be reckless in both scouting and combat, yet she is also a gifted martial artist and eventually risks political consequences to warn Michael. Valyr physiology and combat arts
Zira reaches Tier 3 before age twenty-one and is considered one of the strongest Valyries. Her combat awareness and martial comprehension let her fight numerous Tier 3 Kitsun at once, move with highly efficient footwork, and cut through enemies with a crimson bladed weapon. Her Valyr body also supports flight through leathery wings and fire-associated movement. (Chapters 382 and 397)
Her original one-star Soultrait coats her body in a weak shimmer, absorbs part of incoming attacks, and converts that force into energy. The conversion is so inefficient that maintaining it can cost more energy than it returns, while the unabsorbed force still injures her. Michael's later Soultrait trade gives the Valyrs routes to improvement, but the corpus does not isolate a final upgraded star level or a complete personal loadout for Zira. Relationships
- Valkyria / Valyr Lordess: Zira is her daughter and intended future Lordess. Their affection is clear, though Valkyria struggles to control Zira's risk-taking and later yields to clan pressure.
- Michael Fang: Zira admires his power, fights beside him, and becomes a recurring envoy. Their personal goodwill survives increasing political distrust long enough for her to warn him of the planned attack.
- Tiara: Tiara receives later Valyr deliveries as one of Michael's representatives, making her part of Zira's diplomatic contact with the Untamed territory.
- Valyr elders: Their strategy turns Zira's promising trade relationship into a potential war and forces her to choose between institutional orders and people she knows.
