Zeron Polik

Zeron Polik is a Warlock Centaur Champion who loses his territory, fights beside Michael Fang, and voluntarily becomes Michael's subordinate. His speed-focused Soultraits make him a lethal cavalry skirmisher until six Higher Lifeforms overwhelm him.

Biography

Savannah Alliances and Regional War

Zeron leads Warlock Centaurs after a battle with the Tekur and negotiates fairly when Michael asks to examine every corpse, insisting only that credit reflect each fighter's contribution. Impressed by Michael's power and cross-racial conduct, the territoryless Champion offers to use a Silver Token of Transportation, anchor himself permanently to Michael's Summoning Gate, and serve as both subordinate and easy trading link. He later joins the Untamed Awakened and participates in their public combat activities. (Chapters 482–483, 509, 632)

Arx, the Sacred Desert, and Bloodline Revelations

Zeron fights with Hiraku and Mekhaz against a Kalivera High Priest, then joins Warlock Centaur cavalry charges through the Savannah forces. Swift Steps and Haste let him outpace some Higher Lifeforms while Tempest Blade turns scratches into deadly wind wounds. The enemy recognizes the threat, entangles his legs, and surrounds him with six Higher Lifeforms. They pierce both halves of his body and slash his throat; dying dissatisfied but loyal, Zeron transfers his rage and final wish through the Oath of Loyalty for Michael to avenge. Appearance and personality

Zeron has the human-like upper body and large lower body of a Warlock Centaur; his equine half resembles a white stallion. No secure hair, eye, clothing, or armor description is supplied. He is proud but fair-minded, cautious about communal trophies, willing to surrender independent Lordship for a respected leader, and intensely martial. At death he does not fear the end itself; he regrets being denied time to use the strength he finally attained. (Chapters 482, 509, 681)

Swift Steps, Haste, and Tempest Blade

Swift Steps and Haste combine to accelerate Zeron until he becomes faster than some Higher Lifeforms, while his centaur body supplies powerful hind-leg kicks and cavalry momentum. Tempest Blade creates a second attack of compressed wind for every slash or strike. Its strength scales with the energy and force of the original blow, allowing a small cut to open into a mortal wound. Restraints on his legs remove the speed on which the combination depends, exposing its central weakness. (Chapters 679, 681)

Relationships

Michael Fang

Zeron trusts Michael after witnessing him protect Warlock Centaurs and share spoils rather than privilege humans. He accepts a permanent Link of Loyalty partly to learn and grow, and partly to preserve trade across astronomical distance. The Oath carries his final anger to Michael when he dies, turning personal loyalty into a last request for vengeance. (Chapters 482–483, 509, 681)

Mekhaz and the Warlock Centaurs

Mekhaz is Zeron's visible battlefield partner during the Kalivera and Savannah campaigns. They join Hiraku's assault, form part of the strongest cavalry on the field, and use speed and heavy blades to break mounts and riders. Zeron's individual promotion never separates him from the race whose interests he originally volunteers to represent. (Chapters 657, 679–681)

Paired blades

Zeron brandishes a pair of unnamed blades through which Tempest Blade releases compressed-wind follow-up attacks. Their grade, maker, and fate after his death are not stated. (Chapter 681)

Silver Token of Transportation

Zeron requests a rare Silver Token of Transportation so that he can change his Runic Gate's anchor permanently to Michael's Summoning Gate. His later presence among the Untamed Awakened confirms the relocation, though the consumed token is not described again. (Chapters 509, 632)
