Biography

Battle Exchange and Interdimensional Flag War

Zeroa entered the story without a personal name, imprisoned from birth by Haro Ki. A dozen overlapping Soul Pacts had kept the Elemental Empress pinned in a hidden room for roughly twelve years, forcing her to create Elementals while preventing normal growth. When Michael Fang found her, she chose the dangerous alternative he proposed: accepting his Taming bond even though it could kill her and would replace captivity under the Kitsun Lord with a permanent bond to a new master. The choice broke the pacts and saved her, but Haro Ki's contingency orders caused the Elemental nobility to sacrifice themselves and triggered the deaths of many of Michael's people, leaving Zeroa free but burdened by a rescue whose cost neither survivor could undo. Rather than withdraw after that disaster, the Empress asked what she could do with her freedom and joined Michael's renewed campaign against the Kitsun. She turned grief and anger into attacks on the Kitsun settlements, then fought in the decisive battle where the bond let Michael supply her energy and eventually fuse with her. Their shared rage, powers, and senses made the fusion a turning point in both their combat partnership and their trust; after Haro Ki's death, Zeroa openly thanked Michael for avenging her people and began accepting his territory as home. She chose a cavern for a new Elemental society, created cores to restore her population, and enthusiastically selected “Zeroa” as the personal name that distinguished her from her species and title. Savannah Alliances and Regional War

With a secure home, Zeroa became both a ruler and a contributor to the wider territory. Her growing underground society produced elemental crystals, cooperated with miners and blacksmiths, supplied elemental seeds, and sent Elementals to aid the surface farms. She nevertheless rejected the idea that establishing a society should be her only purpose. When war returned to the Savannah, she insisted on accompanying Michael, assigned Lesser Elementals as battlefield partners, opened portals for the strike force, and used overcharged crystals to shatter enemy formations. Fighting beside Tiara, she prioritized protecting their allies, replenished herself through Michael's Extraction, strengthened Tiara with Enhancement, and compensated for the army's uneven experience with precise support rather than chasing every kill herself. Arx, the Sacred Desert, and Bloodline Revelations

Michael gave Zeroa independent responsibility during the campaign through the Savannah's center, assigning her to lead and transport Zira's Valyr group. She scouted a lightly defended settlement, moved the force past its defenses, killed guards with controlled flame projectiles, and later used her authority to extract the Valyrs after their assault became a slaughter of fleeing civilians. She continued as teleporter and combat support during the regional war, including removing the exhausted Mika from the battlefield when his breakthrough and the flood of energy shares left him unable to continue. As the Elemental Empire expanded, the upgraded Taming bond also let her reside inside Michael as a living tattoo, accompany him beyond her homeland, and share senses and power without traveling separately. That closer access exposed Zeroa to new forms of fire. During conflicts surrounding the Fang bloodline and the Sacred Desert, she survived contact with Crimson's Purgatory Flames, reproduced them, and later learned to use Soul Flames as well. She practiced the new flames against Undead while cooperating with Michael's weapons and elemental control, but the bond also created a clear vulnerability: when the Undead Pharaoh sealed Taming, Zeroa remained trapped inside Michael and could not communicate until he regained control. Her return helped Michael burn away corruption and fight the Pharaoh, after which she continued refining all three flame types rather than treating the acquisition as effortless mastery. The Nest and the Supreme Human Alliance

After the Sacred Desert campaign, Zeroa's role widened from companion to institutional leader. Michael planned to share Paradise Valley with the Elementals, while her original underground realm continued expanding into an Elemental Empire. When the Blaze household threatened Michael's territories, Zeroa joined the response personally and ordered her children to link with and protect the Untamed Awakened. Their Elemental Might supplied resistance to fire and heat, undermining an enemy whose combat identity depended on those elements. Zeroa herself countered Olivia Blaze by draining and redirecting heat, although Olivia's ability to compress and swallow her flames nearly killed her and forced Michael to retrieve her through the strengthened Taming bond. She recovered and subsequently helped destroy the remaining Blaze settlements, proving that her growing destructive power still depended on coordination and could be countered by specialized opponents. Trials, Divinities, and the Titan War

Zeroa's people became an economic and strategic power during Michael's later wars. Their surplus elemental crystals filled warehouses and attracted interest from Thorn Merchandise, while Zeroa continued accompanying Michael in battles beyond the Origin Expanse, where she could shelter allies from freezing attacks and combine her flames with the Red Dragon's. During Michael's long absence in the Temple of the Forgotten, Zeroa also acted with the defenders of his territory: she and the Elementals helped bomb Dragys settlements with thousands of overcharged crystals, forcing a much older enemy to redirect attention away from the concealed territory. Later, Michael could project a Beast Halo modeled on Zeroa, granting him a temporary combat replica, but the technique reproduced only part of the original's power rather than replacing her independent presence. God Wars and the Primal Conflict

In the expanding war against divine powers, Zeroa most often fought beside the Red Dragon as mobile siege force. Together they burned a Fae Union temple, moved between Tekur Nests with the Golden Stinger Wasps, and reduced organic settlements to cinders while the heat-adapted Dragonbound recovered what survived. Their partnership was effective enough that the two mythical creatures and the Azure Quetzalcoatl could raze fortified targets that ordinary armies struggled to breach. Michael's advanced Beast Halo later let projections of Zeroa and Sun Demos defeat a Demi-God together, yet their encounter with Primal Xerx set a harder limit: even enhanced Halos of Zeroa, the Red Dragon, and Sun Demos inflicted little damage on the Primal, leaving the God Curses to create the meaningful openings. The Unknown Domain and the New Era

By the peaceful years near the corpus endpoint, Zeroa no longer remained constantly beside Michael or in the Elemental Empire. Alice had not seen her for years and worried that she was missing, but Michael showed that Zeroa was safe in the Origin Expanse, living with the Red Dragon on a small volcanic island. The active eruption for which both were responsible presents her final state as independent and adventurous without severing her old bonds: she has a realm and people to return to, remains one of Michael's companions, and is free to spend years exploring with a friend rather than serving as anyone's captive resource. Appearance and personality

Zeroa is an elemental being whose humanoid form is made from compressed flame. When Michael first finds her, confinement and the Soul Pacts have left her small and fragile, with most of her body and hair formed from fire; a limited number of differently colored strands signal her affinities beyond her primary fire element. Her shape is flexible rather than fixed. She can appear as a miniature flaming woman, expand to Michael's height, dissolve into armor around a bonded partner, or become a living tattoo while stored through Taming. The corpus establishes these transformations but does not assign her a conventional human complexion or stable clothing. (Chapters 360, 392, 553, 720)

Freedom reveals an exuberant, talkative personality that captivity had suppressed. Zeroa chooses her name because it sounds mysterious and grand, celebrates new flames loudly, seeks praise for her experiments, and can overwhelm Michael with excited telepathic chatter. Her youth and inexperience sometimes make her enthusiasm destructive, yet she is not merely impulsive: she declines to join the Valyrs' indiscriminate killing, removes allies who can no longer fight, directs her Elementals to protect the army, and carries responsibility for a society whose survival depends on her core. Her enduring anger toward the Kitsun grows from personal torture and the deaths of her first children, while her later joy comes from companionship, creation, and the freedom to decide where she goes. Elemental powers and abilities

Elemental Empress core and affinities

As an Elemental Empress, Zeroa naturally commands every element to some degree while possessing a dominant affinity for fire. Her core produces surplus elemental energy, which she can release into the environment or compress into Elemental Cores, elemental crystals, and elemental seeds. This makes her a source of both life and infrastructure: she creates Lesser and Noble Elementals, changes the ecology of her caverns, supplies agriculture and forging, and eventually supports a large Elemental Empire. The process is productive but not instantaneous; forming stronger nobility takes sustained time and energy, and her early imprisonment kept her Tierless despite years in an energy-rich environment. Her non-fire affinities give her broad utility rather than equal mastery of every element. She can use nature-aligned power to influence vegetation, spatial power to create portals and teleport groups, and altered elemental energy to shape varied projectiles or reinforce Michael's own elemental techniques. Spatial restrictions can prevent her from setting an anchor, long-distance Power Share consumes more energy, and her early portals and projectiles require planning and support. Those limits explain why Zeroa frequently operates as part of a coordinated force with Michael, Stinger, or the Golden Stinger Wasps instead of serving as an unrestricted answer to every battlefield. Mythical, Purgatory, and Soul Flames

Zeroa's signature power is her azure mythical fire. Even while Tierless, she can ignite structures and establish large burning zones; after gaining energy and experience, she compresses the flames into arrows, spears, armor, walls, and siege-scale blasts. The flames can coat allies without burning them when she exercises proper control, while enemies at comparable lower ranks can die from direct contact. Her precision and scale improve noticeably over time, but opponents able to consume, suppress, or isolate fire can still resist her, and greatly superior beings such as Primal Xerx can withstand attacks that devastate ordinary settlements. Contact with Crimson's power allows Zeroa to reproduce Purgatory Flames, which are especially effective against Undead, corruption, and Curses. She subsequently devours or analyzes Soul Flames and practices maintaining these forms around Michael's weapons. The narrative demonstrates acquisition through exposure and experimentation but leaves the exact internal mechanism uncertain; Michael himself cannot tell whether she copies a flame or permanently develops it after consuming and studying it. By Chapter 764, Zeroa confidently distinguishes mythical, purgatory, and soul fire, though her continued practice shows that possession of a flame does not imply complete mastery. (Chapters 739–764)

Taming bond, Power Share, and Fusion

Zeroa willingly accepts Michael's Taming because changing her soul offers a chance to invalidate Haro Ki's pacts. The resulting True Link of Loyalty enables telepathy, emotional exchange, and energy transfer, and it connects her with Michael's other tamed companions. As trust deepens, Power Share lets Zeroa temporarily draw on Michael's Soultraits while giving him access to her affinities. She uses Enhancement and Extraction through that connection, and Michael borrows her fire, nature, and spatial control. Distance raises the energy cost, while sealing Taming cuts communication and can confine Zeroa inside him, making the same bond that rescued her a tactical dependency. Fusion is the bond's closest expression. Zeroa expands into a layer of living flame, merges her consciousness and elemental experience with Michael or coats another compatible ally such as Tiara, and functions as armor as well as a source of elemental power. The partners retain distinct identities, but the dominant body's control and the other participant's trust determine whether the state holds. Fusion strengthens both combat output and resistance, permits joint techniques that neither could execute as effectively alone, and later works with Michael's Spheres of Elements. Its effectiveness does not erase counters: Zeroa can be compressed or endangered while separated, and Michael sometimes recalls her to the Taming tattoo specifically to keep her alive. Elemental leadership and battlefield coordination

Zeroa's authority over the Elementals is an active capability rather than a ceremonial title. She creates their cores, communicates orders, assigns them to compatible Awakened, and develops Elemental Might into a force multiplier. Lesser and Noble Elementals can coat weapons, empower projectiles, grant elemental resistance, and combine with troops that would otherwise be vulnerable to specialized opponents. Zeroa also charges elemental crystals until they function as mines or bombardment devices, opens extraction routes, and coordinates with teleporters to move firepower between threatened fronts. Her command therefore scales from nurturing a single new Baron to directing tens of thousands of Elementals in regional and interstellar warfare. Relationships

Michael Fang

Michael is Zeroa's rescuer, tamer, master, and closest long-term partner. Their bond begins as a desperate gamble made under coercive circumstances, then survives mutual grief over the Elementals Cave and becomes voluntary loyalty as Michael helps her take revenge, build a society, and exercise choices Haro Ki denied her. Zeroa repeatedly supports his wars and shares her body and power through Fusion, while Michael supplies energy, rescues her when specialized enemies suppress her, and allows her increasing independence. Their final separation is therefore not abandonment: Michael knows she is safe even after she spends years away from both him and her empire. (Chapters 360–399, 422, 511–579, 651–764, 872–891, 1119)

Tiara

Tiara becomes Zeroa's most established humanoid combat partner. Zeroa evacuates her from the Kitsun battlefield, later coats her transformed body in mythical flames, replenishes herself through Michael's powers, and uses Enhancement to help Tiara protect less experienced allies. Their coordination turns two individually vulnerable fighters into a mobile defensive spearhead, and Tiara's personal concern extends to the Elemental Empress and her kin beyond battle. The Elementals

The Elementals are Zeroa's children, subjects, and the society she considers her responsibility. Her first nobility sacrificed themselves after Haro Ki weaponized their Soul Pacts, a loss that shapes her hatred of the Kitsun and her determination to rebuild. In Michael's territory she creates a new generation, establishes an underground home, cultivates Noble Elementals, and eventually rules an Elemental Empire whose resources and soldiers support multiple peoples. Her orders emphasize both loyalty and protection, as when she links Elementals with Awakened during the campaign against the Blaze household. Sun Demos and the Red Dragon

Sun Demos shares Michael's Taming network with Zeroa, allowing the two to communicate and cooperate even when Michael is elsewhere. Their relationship also carries a competitive edge, with Sun Demos seeking an evolution path strong enough to surpass her. The Red Dragon becomes Zeroa's closer late-story companion: they experiment with combined flames, act as a paired siege force, and eventually withdraw together to a volcanic island where their destructive play continues outside formal campaigns. Items

Zeroa is not assigned a personal weapon or wearable Artifact in the supplied item manifest. Her most important material resources are elemental crystals, which her society produces as concentrated byproducts of elemental energy. She charges them with Elemental Might or mythical fire so that smiths can create elemental armaments and armies can use them as projectiles, mines, or settlement-destroying explosives. Michael also supplies Energy Nourishing Pills and later specialized treasures to restore or strengthen her, but these are consumable support resources rather than signature possessions.
