Taller Zan Twin

The Taller Zan Twin is one of two unnamed brothers whose attack on Michael's grief becomes part of a larger political trap.

Biography

The Lord Rift and Daniel’s Loss

The taller twin and his shorter brother confront Michael near the watchtower after stalking him for days, weaponizing confidential knowledge about Daniel's death. Michael's rage overwhelms them, and four arms are severed before Mr. Klein continues the scheme. Because the cuts are clean and Michael stops short of permanent injury, academy treatment can restore both brothers despite the bloody public defeat. (Chapters 286, 290, 292)

Savannah Alliances and Regional War

Later references recast both twins as tools rather than masterminds. Michael remembers that the Zan household patriarch was also used in the attempt to provoke him, strengthening his aversion to elite political networks. The twins' taunts remain connected to his investigation of Daniel, but no later scene identifies the taller twin's personal beliefs, actions, residence, or final allegiance. (Chapters 595, 630)

Appearance and personality

This twin is differentiated only by being taller than his brother. Both have bright golden hair and wear attention-grabbing clothes, while their individual names, eyes, exact heights, and distinct speech are withheld. The narrative presents them collectively as sly and willing to exploit bereavement; it does not support assigning one brother more cruelty or initiative than the other. (Chapters 286–293)

Awakened abilities

The taller twin is an Awakened academy freshman, but his Soultrait, precise Tier, weapon, and combat style are not separately shown. Michael severs his arms before the brothers demonstrate a meaningful response. The two records therefore share the same evidentiary boundary: no collective ability can safely be individualized. (Chapters 286–290)

Relationships

The Shorter Zan Twin is his unnamed brother and fellow pawn. Mr. Klein is their Soul Manifestation teacher and co-conspirator against Michael Fang. Hiro Zan and an unknown mastermind connect the incident to broader schemes, although the twins' own level of knowledge is never disclosed. (Chapters 286–295, 595)

Items

No named personal Artifact is securely associated with the taller twin. Their bright clothing helps witnesses identify the pair but is not described as armor or enchanted equipment. (Chapter 286)
