The Lord Rift and Daniel’s Loss

The shorter twin and his taller brother stalk Michael, use confidential information, and mock his dead brother near an academy watchtower. Their provocation succeeds too well: Michael unleashes overwhelming pressure and severs both arms from each twin, while witnesses condemn the brothers' conduct. He deliberately leaves clean wounds, allowing medics to reattach their arms without permanent injury. (Chapters 286, 290, 292)

Savannah Alliances and Regional War

The twins do not personally re-enter the action in this phase. Michael later concludes that even the Zan patriarch and the twins were pawns in a broader scheme, which deepens his distrust of High Society.
