Icarus is Michael Fang's black-feathered Greater Eagle and his longest-serving aerial mount.

Blaire proposes the newly named Icarus as the fastest route to Xiltra, and the Greater Eagle openly approves its name. It becomes Michael's transport between the Untamed Jungle and human settlements, but also joins dangerous hunts. Despite trauma from the Blood-eyed Minotaur's strength, Icarus dives after it when Michael calls, showing that the bond functions through trust and action rather than safe travel alone. God Wars and the Primal Conflict

Icarus remains active across the enormous span of Michael's rise. Michael still chooses to travel on the eagle with Hiraku while receiving reports after the Fae Union campaign, even though teleportation would be faster. A later decision to travel on foot rather than use Icarus is not evidence of death or separation; it only marks a different journey through the Untamed Jungle. (Chapters 1003, 1024)

Appearance and personality

Icarus is a black-feathered Greater Eagle large enough to carry Michael and other riders. It understands names, commands, danger, and Michael's intent, showing more awareness than an ordinary mount. Its fear after the Minotaur attack is explicit, but it acts anyway when Michael commits to pursuit. The corpus gives no exact wingspan, eye color, or final Divine form. (Chapters 135, 147)

Flight and combat support

Icarus can cross the distance to Xiltra in under an hour, carry riders over jungle terrain, dive into combat, and observe fleeing enemies from above. Its strongest confirmed value is mobility and aerial awareness rather than a named supernatural attack. Michael Fang names, rides, and fights beside Icarus. Blaire Tracer first recommends the eagle for long-distance travel and works within the same scouting network.
