Mirror of Future Victory
The Mirror of Future Victory is one of Zarveth's Infinity Relics, a silver mirror that shows a future route in which its wielder's action succeeds.
History
A promised counterattack
With the Blade of Rewriting and Cube of Silence destroyed, Zarveth combines the Mirror with his remaining time relics inside Nux's universe. While Nux appears distracted by Sharnoth, the Mirror illuminates a sliver of the future in which Zarveth can land a counterblow. Zarveth follows that prediction and attacks through the present and past at once. Nux's movement within his own universe does not follow the future the Mirror presented: he appears at will, strikes through Zarveth's attempted block, and shatters the Mirror like sand. Its failure is a decisive blow to Zarveth's reliance on deterministic guidance. (Chapters 2110–2111)
Abilities and properties
- Its silver surface displays a path through the future that appears to culminate in victory, allowing Zarveth to select the timing of a counterattack. (Chapter 2111)
- The prediction is not absolute. It fails when used against Nux inside the universe governed by Nux's will, and the corpus does not establish whether the Mirror misread that authority or showed a path whose conditions changed. (Chapter 2111)
- The Mirror can be used as a physical guard, but it cannot withstand Nux's blow and is completely destroyed. (Chapter 2111)
