Crown of Peace

The Crown of Peace is one of the detection relics Orravyn creates from Vashti for the Infinities' campaign against Nux. Each Crown is embedded into a World's Will and linked to Orravyn's central Orb of Peace, forming a covert network intended to warn the Infinities before the Anomaly arrives.

History

Vashti's weaponization

After the Infinities capture Vashti for her exceptional sensitivity to movements through time, they transform her into a family of relics and call the distributed nodes Crowns of Peace. The name masks a coercive purpose: the network is meant to locate Nux so the Infinities can capture him. Orravyn says he has seen Vashti's power work and expects evasion to be nearly impossible, but Ul'Thakar, Seraphielle, and Equarios do not share his full confidence. At this stage the detection plan remains an informed claim, not a demonstrated capture. The narration describes a Crown trembling as though it resists installation, but does not explicitly establish Vashti's continuing consciousness within each node. (Chapter 2333)

Orravyn places the largest part of what he calls Vashti's Core into the Orb of Peace, which he keeps. Golden threads connect that Orb to every Crown he makes. His centralized design concerns the other Infinities: Seraphielle, Equarios, and Ul'Thakar plan to remove the Crowns from their own World Wills after Nux is captured, rather than leave Orravyn's network connected indefinitely. Their distrust establishes contested strategic control even though Orravyn is the system's creator and operator. (Chapter 2333)

Installation across the Universe

Orravyn demonstrates the deployment at Veltharis. He freezes the world, verifies that its leader Eryndor has no involvement with Nux, and compels him to connect a Crown to Veltharis's Will. Golden threads spread through the world and the Crown disappears into the Will. Orravyn then erases Eryndor's memory of the installation. His clones repeat the procedure across trillions of worlds during the same universal pause, leaving the World leaders unaware that their Wills host the network. (Chapters 2335–2336)

Once the installation is complete, the Infinities wait for an alert. The supplied corpus does not later identify an individual Crown being removed, recovered, or destroyed, nor does it directly show a Crown detecting Nux. Their latest established custody is therefore hidden integration with the affected World Wills, under a network whose Orb remains with Orravyn. (Chapter 2336)

Abilities and properties

• Each Crown can connect a World's Will to the Orb of Peace. The Crown disappears into the Will after the connection deepens, and no later physical handling of an installed Crown is shown. (Chapters 2335–2336)
• The Orb supplies the energy needed to activate the Crowns and aggregates the network. The intended function is to sense Nux's attempted arrival and inform the Infinities early enough for them to reach the targeted world first. This function is Orravyn's explanation and is not directly demonstrated in the Crown's packet. (Chapter 2333)
• Activation requires a person able to access the target World's Will to form the initial connection. Orravyn obtains that cooperation by compulsion and then removes the installer's memory; neither the time freeze nor memory erasure is a Crown ability. (Chapters 2335–2336)
• The single-Orb architecture leaves operational control concentrated with Orravyn. The other Infinities explicitly distrust that arrangement and intend to disconnect their own worlds later, showing a political and custodial weakness rather than a proven technical counter. (Chapter 2333)
• The Crowns are manufactured from Vashti after ten thousand years of work under altered time. Vashti is a coerced person used in their creation, not property merely because her Core and powers are incorporated into the relic network. Whether any Crown retains an independent portion of her mind is unresolved. (Chapter 2333)
