Xavien
Xavien is one of Destiny's three Great Sages and a trusted adviser to Vindan. He helps turn the clan's reputational crisis into a campaign against ExceedoGenesis, then loses both the battle and his independence when Nux forces him into service. The narration introduces him as “Xavien Rolls,” while Nux's later slave registry displays “Xavien Frugale”; the corpus does not resolve the surname discrepancy. (Chapters 831 and 856)
Biography
Advising Destiny into a public challenge
Xavien first appears as the calm voice in a furious Destiny council. He recognizes that punishing a failed subordinate cannot repair the clan's public decline and initially supports crushing ExceedoGenesis until its members bow publicly. When Aiden points out that the new clan is unusually secretive and may be dangerous, Xavien also acknowledges the risk, but he does not insist on the peaceful course strongly enough to stop Vindan and Miliana. His role is advisory rather than sovereign: he supplies analysis while ultimately following the clan leader's decision. (Chapters 831–832)
Nux manipulates that pride into a public clan challenge. Xavien recognizes the danger in Nux's composure and later calls his arrogance intolerable, yet Destiny still advertises the confrontation that Nux wants. Once battle begins, Xavien coordinates with Vindan, Miliana, and Aiden, using earth defenses to keep them above Melia's blood-covered field and protect the group from sustained attacks. His loyalty extends to accepting Aiden's life-force sacrifice when Xavien believes it is their only chance of survival. (Chapters 835–849)
Defeat and compelled service
Nux identifies Xavien's earth spells as strategically troublesome and targets him first during the later exchange. Earth Hands briefly close around Nux, but they catch only an afterimage or absent target. Xavien's large-scale final casting is interrupted by the Incubus transformation's mental pressure, leaving him seated and unresisting while Destiny collapses around him. He accepts Nux's demand to become a slave before Vindan does, after suffering a missing arm and broken knees. The Slave Seal is coercive and belongs to Nux; it is not evidence of voluntary loyalty. (Chapters 850–856 and 861)
As Nux's subordinate, Xavien later accompanies Vindan and Miliana to report that Destiny has lost most of its business and members. The ruined clan can no longer sustain itself, and Nux treats that collapse as the planned result of the public defeat. Xavien is still alive during this report and is later mentioned among Nux's available slaves, but the corpus gives him no independent choice, recovery arc, or later destination. (Chapters 877 and 882)
Appearance and personality
Xavien is a man with brown hair and black eyes who wears white clothing. He is introduced with a calm smile that contrasts with the anger around him. No height, age, build, or later description of his injuries and recovery is supplied. (Chapter 831)
He is analytical, pragmatic, and loyal to Destiny, but not consistently cautious. He can recognize opposing arguments and accepts grim sacrifices when he believes the group otherwise faces death. Under Nux's domination, his resistance collapses before Vindan's, showing the limit of that resolve rather than a genuine change of allegiance. (Chapters 831–832, 847, and 854–856)
Abilities and cultivation
Great Sage earth magic
Xavien is Destiny's Third Great Sage and specializes in earth spells. He raises the ground into a protected base above Melia's blood field and repeatedly maintains defensive structures against large attacks, making him the group's principal terrain controller. The source does not state whether his foundation is Complete or Incomplete, how he acquired his magic, or the Mana cost and maximum area of these defenses. (Chapters 831 and 845–850)
His named Earth Hands is a nine-star spell that forms two large hands from the ground to seize a target. It requires a magic circle under or near the target and works as capture and positional control rather than a directly demonstrated killing attack. Against Nux it closes during the smoke from another explosion, but Nux has already moved, exposing its dependence on tracking and casting time. (Chapter 850)
Xavien can join Vindan and Miliana in preparing numerous large-scale magic circles intended to annihilate both clans, but the casting is disrupted before its effects are shown. His defenses are useful against Melia and Ember's area attacks, yet Nux's concealment, speed, and mental pressure counter his ability to target or continue casting. No Law, Domain, later stage, or post-enslavement combat feat is established. (Chapters 849–854)
Relationships
- Vindan: Xavien's clan leader and the person who trusts his analysis. Xavien supports him in council and battle, then shares his enslavement and the duty of reporting Destiny's collapse. (Chapters 831–837, 844–856, and 877)
- Nux: The rival Xavien helps challenge. Nux specifically neutralizes his earth control, mutilates and coerces him, then retains him as a subordinate. (Chapters 835–856 and 877)
- Melia: The ExceedoGenesis fighter whose blood field forces Xavien into a defensive terrain role. Their conflict is tactical rather than personally developed. (Chapters 844–849)
