Inferath Ragnorok

Inferath Ragnorok is the Primordial leader of Tandris's Inferniks. He enters the war against Velcria expecting secret allies to secure his side, only to discover that those allies intend to erase both armies. After their defeat, his priorities narrow from victory to survival, and he accepts lethal control by Nux.

Biography

Tandris's compromised offensive

Inferath and Malcharon, the two Tandris leaders still free, confront Ember because their ally Kaelith is trapped in her shadow. When Liora interposes herself, Inferath warns her back rather than immediately attacking. His confidence comes from a hidden bargain: Tandris has carried out the demands of outside Primordials, and Inferath appeals to those sponsors to correct the danger their plan created. Seventeen Primordials answer that appeal, apparently ending the war in Tandris's favor. (Chapter 1844)

The reinforcement instead announces that no witness—including Tandris—will leave alive. Inferath reacts with horror and anger, then prepares with the other local leaders for a battle of survival. The betrayal destroys the purpose of Tandris's arrangement: the allies he relied on become a common enemy, while Nux's group and Aeliana eliminate them before Inferath can meaningfully influence the outcome. Surrender for survival

With Tandris exposed and the wider faction likely to destroy the world, Malcharon kneels and asks the victorious group to take them in. Inferath is initially confused and has to be pulled down, but quickly understands and repeats the surrender. Seeing Kaelith battered in Nux's hand provokes anger; recognizing that Nux cannot be sensed by Tandris's Will provokes questions. In both cases Inferath suppresses himself when Malcharon or Nux warns that speaking could jeopardize their survival. (Chapter 1852)

Malcharon offers the three Primordial leaders and up to three hundred thousand Sovereigns while abandoning those who will not follow. Inferath tries to stop him from describing families and reluctant soldiers so bluntly, indicating concern for how the offer affects the army even as he accepts its premise. Nux agrees only under absolute obedience and implants a Seed of Death in each leader's core. Inferath realizes Nux is merely a Sovereign and considers burning him, but Aeliana's presence deters resistance; he accepts the seed without testing whether the threat is real. (Chapter 1853)

Submission after Kaelith's death

Kaelith soon insults Nux's wives and challenges the control imposed on him. Nux activates the Seed of Death, strips his energy and bodily control, drains his life, and kills him. Inferath flinches when Nux looks toward him and follows Malcharon's orders, now faced with direct proof that the seed works across a cultivation-stage disparity. His obedience is rooted in coercion and survival rather than demonstrated loyalty. (Chapters 1853–1854)

Inferath later overhears Nux calmly discussing a possible Transcendent pursuit and concludes that service under such a risk-taking master may shorten the life he tried to preserve. He nevertheless accepts his situation. While Malcharon takes the active command role over the submitting army, Inferath stays back and trembles as Ember demonstrates the punishment attached to the soldiers' Slave Seals. He remains alive and bound at his last appearance; the corpus does not show his later assignments, advancement, or release. (Chapters 1856–1857)

Appearance and personality

Inferath is identified as an Infernik, but the supplied scenes do not provide a reliable description of his face, build, clothing, coloration, or other racial features. His physical presentation should therefore not be inferred from the species name. (Chapter 1844)

He is confrontational when backed by apparent strength, protective of Kaelith as an ally, and sensitive to language that may fracture his soldiers' resolve. Once the balance of power turns, he repeatedly controls his anger and follows the more pragmatic Malcharon. His fear after witnessing Kaelith's execution is rational and explicit; it does not establish willing devotion to Nux. (Chapters 1844 and 1852–1857)

Abilities and cultivation

Inferath is a Primordial cultivator and the leader of the Inferniks. His released presence contributes to a confrontation among Primordials, but the corpus does not isolate its pressure, range, or effect from the surrounding auras. He prepares in thought to “burn” Nux after sensing the lower quality of Nux's energy, suggesting an offensive means consistent with that wording, yet he never activates it. Its source, mechanics, scale, cost, and whether it is racial or cultivated remain unknown. (Chapters 1844 and 1853)

No named Law, Domain, cultivation method, weapon art, transformation, or successful attack is shown for Inferath. His rank indicates the general durability and power expected of a Primordial, but the local scenes do not provide an individual feat from which to measure him. He also cannot sense Nux through Tandris's World Will, an observation about Nux's anomalous existence rather than a special failure or technique of Inferath's. (Chapters 1844 and 1852–1853)

The Seed of Death inside Inferath's core is an imposed control mechanism, not his innate ability or an item he owns. Nux claims it can kill a bearer at will; Kaelith's death demonstrates that activation can drain energy, remove control, and extinguish a Primordial's life. Inferath never counters or removes his seed, and his latest demonstrated state remains constrained by it. (Chapters 1853–1854)

Relationships

• Malcharon: Malcharon is Inferath's fellow Tandris leader and the more decisive strategist after their defeat. He pulls Inferath into the initial surrender, silences dangerous questions, and assumes command of the surviving soldiers; Inferath repeatedly follows his lead. (Chapters 1844 and 1852–1857)
• Kaelith: Inferath seeks Kaelith when he is trapped, reacts angrily to his battered condition, and is shaken by his execution. Their alliance is genuine enough to provoke emotion, but Inferath chooses survival over challenging Nux afterward. (Chapters 1844 and 1852–1854)
• Nux: Inferath becomes Nux's subordinate under threat of death. He doubts Nux's personal stage, then accepts the authority of the Seed after seeing it kill Kaelith; no freely chosen loyalty is demonstrated. (Chapters 1852–1856)
• Aeliana: Aeliana's overwhelming violence against the hostile Primordials and her watch over Nux deter Inferath from resisting the Seed. Their relationship is one of fear and power, not personal allegiance. (Chapters 1846 and 1852–1853)
• Ember: Inferath first confronts Ember as the keeper of Kaelith's prison. After surrender, Ember helps administer the newly subordinated army and her warning about Nux's punishments makes Inferath tremble. (Chapters 1844 and 1857)

Items

No personal weapon, artifact, or signature item is attributed to Inferath. Tandris possesses Chains of Soul, a large shield, and other artifacts, but these are recovered as collective spoils and are not established as Inferath's property. The Seed of Death is an imposed energy construct in his core, not a possession. (Chapters 1853 and 1857)
