Dream Beast survivor and Han Sen’s benchmark

Lone Bamboo survives ten years of Dream Beast nightmares containing lifetimes of despair and becomes the Sky Palace leader’s first accepted student in a thousand years. He seeks mastery that can give meaning and control to the suffering he carries, not simply public rank. He trains through the Textless Book and Sky Palace cities, enters the Earl examination, fights Han Sen with Spring Heart, and advances to Marquise during their draw. Han Sen becomes a rare equal in will and technique; Dream Beast is both tormentor and source of the experiences that shape him; Sky Palace treats him as its model student. The draw raises Han Sen’s standing and confirms Lone Bamboo’s will as comparable to deified beings, while his advancement disqualifies him from the Earl bracket. He learns that another person can meet his nightmare-forged will without being consumed by it. (Chapters 1984–2028)

Evil Eye, the Very High demand, and chosen restraint

Evil Eye targets Lone Bamboo’s exceptional will and later the Very High tries to recruit or use Sky Palace’s strongest talents. Lone Bamboo wants strength and eventual deification, but not at the cost of surrendering privacy, judgment, or responsibility for his own choices. He resists Evil Eye by turning the accumulated despair of his nightmares against the possessor, withdraws from the Scroll, endures imprisonment rather than become a Very High silkworm, helps Han Sen hunt a deified Silver Destroyer, and later fights at ninth-tier King. Han Sen helps free him from Evil Eye and later fights beside him; Sky Palace and the Very High compete over his future. He preserves autonomy, advances to the top of the King tiers, and continues serving as a knowledgeable ally rather than a factional instrument. His progression turns traumatic endurance into deliberate restraint and strategic courage without the text yet confirming a deified breakthrough. (Chapters 2127–2791)

Appearance and personality

Quiet, disciplined, compassionate, and extremely strong-willed. He seeks difficult opponents and advancement but imposes limits on violence. His willingness to abandon the Geno Being Scroll rather than serve Evil Eye distinguishes him from fighters driven only by victory. (Chapters 1984–2597)

• Nightmare-forged will and knife mastery: Dream Beast forces him through ten years containing vast lifetimes of nightmare experience; he later trains under the Sky Palace leader. His will resists dream intrusion and supports precise knife mind. He can weaponize accumulated despair against a possessor who shares his mind. Matches deified-grade will, controls duels through knife intent, and breaks Evil Eye’s psychological advantage. Used in examination combat, resisting possession, and hunting deified xenogeneics with allies. Dream burden is emotionally severe; equal will prevents his dream snare from taking hold, and stronger raw-class opponents can still threaten him. Advances from Earl knife prodigy to Marquise during the Han Sen duel and later to ninth-tier King. Works with Spring Heart, Ghost Teeth Knife during the Han Sen contest, Textless Book training, and Evil Eye’s possession.
