Ancient Devil
Ancient Devil has the role of emperor, strategist, antagonist, and Break World architect. Their recurring position is defined by consequential choices, alliances, and conflicts.
Biography
Sanctuary emperor and demigod design
Ancient Devil rules a shelter whose bell and light can alter gene locks and gathers generals for a demigod summoning experiment. He seeks a path beyond the ten-gene-lock ceiling and the ordinary sanctuary ascent available to emperors. The experiment contributes to scattered generals, relics, and unresolved links to a dying God Spirit that matter again near the finale. He is established not merely as a powerful emperor but as a system-level experimenter willing to gamble followers and worlds for transcendence. (Chapters 1071–1320)
He defeats challengers such as Sky King, conducts the demigod ritual, uses specialized cores and subordinates, and leaves knowledge that shapes later investigations. Dragon King serves as both subordinate and later witness; Han Sen reconstructs Ancient Devil’s choices from the ruined shelter and survivors. The experiment contributes to scattered generals, relics, and unresolved links to a dying God Spirit that matter again near the finale. He is established not merely as a powerful emperor but as a system-level experimenter willing to gamble followers and worlds for transcendence. (Chapters 1071–1320)
Battle for Destiny’s Tower and ascension
Ancient Devil reappears while seeking Destiny’s Tower and absorbed God geno-core power, confronting Han Sen’s coalition during the transition out of the sanctuaries. He wants the tower and the power needed to control the next stage before rivals can rebuild. He loses freedom and possessions despite reaching the next realm, while Han Sen gains a dangerous source of knowledge. The apparent conqueror becomes a patient captive who continues to negotiate as an equal and wait for a better era. (Chapters 1665–1904)
He absorbs Gu Qingcheng’s sword light and hostile geno cores, breaks the Bulwark Umbrella after a prolonged assault, fights Han Sen’s group, and ascends, only to arrive without equipment and be captured in Destiny’s Tower. Han Sen becomes captor and rival; Gu Qingcheng, Six Paths, Han Meng’er, and the Armoured Man oppose Ancient Devil’s attempt to seize the tower. He loses freedom and possessions despite reaching the next realm, while Han Sen gains a dangerous source of knowledge. The apparent conqueror becomes a patient captive who continues to negotiate as an equal and wait for a better era. (Chapters 1665–1904)
Break World strategist and the Thirty-Three Skies
After long captivity and later release, Ancient Devil reaches Break World power and resumes the God Chaos Party project around the Thirty-Three Skies and geno tablet. He wants to end God Spirit supremacy and replace it with a managed reincarnation order centered on the Thirty-Three Skies; personal loyalty to Chaos and rivalry with the old leader color that ideology. His plan gives Han Sen access and information but also attempts to make the geno tablet the foundation of a new hierarchy. Ancient Devil evolves from sanctuary experimenter into a Break World political architect, while late revelations expose the emotional and historical motives beneath his claims of pure strategy. (Chapters 3297–3424)
He uses a reborn relic to enter the Thirty-Three Skies, negotiates with Han Sen, enters Han Sen’s Sea of Soul to approach the geno tablet, fights Big Sky Demon under Dust Sky rules, and guides movement through the skies. Han Sen needs his system knowledge but distrusts the planned new order; Chaos is both leader and personal attachment; Qin Xiu’s beasts force temporary cooperation.
Appearance and personality
Patient, manipulative, scholarly, and ruthlessly strategic. He prefers layered plans, accepts captivity without conceding equality, and argues in terms of universal order rather than immediate loyalty. Pride and jealousy surface around the old geno hall leader and Chaos. (Chapters 1665–3401)
Abilities and advancement
- Power absorption and demonic aura: A core Ancient Devil discipline demonstrated in sanctuary combat. His red/black aura redirects or absorbs sword light, geno-core attacks, blood, and other released power, converting them into demonic wisps or strength. Neutralizes enemy techniques, breaks cores, and expands into a world-covering demonic presence. Used to dismantle coalitions and turn an opponent’s attack into fuel. The Bulwark Umbrella initially blocks him; sufficiently strong direct attacks injure him, and ascension strips his possessions. He scales the technique with stolen God geno-core power and later Break World cultivation. Interacts directly with Gu Qingcheng’s Pure sword, the Bulwark Umbrella, Han Sen’s God core, and hostile geno cores. Later supplemented by Break World power; still presented as a central combat principle. (Chapters 1665–1677)
- Break World strategy and rule use: Achieved after rebuilding beyond the sanctuaries and waiting until he could activate a retained relic. He channels Break World force into relics, exploits local sky rules, and navigates or manipulates the Thirty-Three Skies’ system architecture. Permits direct entry to the skies and resistance to other Break World beings under favorable rules. Used for access, negotiation, survival, and the geno-tablet succession plan. Dust Sky restricts his output and his rate is described as low in Chapter 3349; incompatible rule systems can reject his force. Explicit Break World attainment is confirmed at Chapter 3298; later fights refine technique even without a high rate. Interacts with Geno Tablet, Sky Clock, the old leader’s relics, and Big Sky Demon. Break World active at the endpoint; exact numeric rate remains unstated/low in Dust Sky. (Chapters 3298–3385)
Power progression
| Stage / Realm / Ability | Chapter(s) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Ten-gene-lock emperor | By 1082 | His sanctuary light and combat presence are explicitly associated with the ten-lock ceiling. |
| Ascended/rebuilt beyond the sanctuaries | 1680 | He levels up and reaches the Alliance first, but arrives without his prior possessions. |
| Break World attained | 3298 | He explicitly waits until he has broken the world before using a retained relic to enter the Thirty-Three Skies. |
| Rule-restricted low Break World rate | 3349 | Dust Sky restricts his power; he states his Break World rate there is not high. |
