The Destroyer
The Destroyer is a Haca Dynasty weapon of war powered by an Empyrean-ranked World Boss Core. It gathers and magnifies magical attacks until they reach Grand Spell strength, but its scarce charges and missing blueprint prevent it from becoming a repeatable strategic solution.
History
Haca Dynasty siege weapon
Great General Garret orders the ten-meter machine deployed when the Haca Dynasty's magical bombardment is neutralized. Wizards of the dynasty's Magic Tower built it around a World Boss Core obtained a decade earlier, and the campaign permits only three firings. This war machine is distinct from Misery's End, the Destroyer of Last Hope, the separate halberd named in Chapter 169; their shared word does not make them the same item. (Chapters 169, 606)
Capture and a reversed bombardment
Lux's forces steal the machine during the battle and turn it against its makers. The Destroyer multiplies Lux's E-Rank-strength Crystal Dragon breath into a Grand Spell that crystallizes millions, demonstrating that it amplifies an input spell rather than generating a fixed projectile of its own. Lux then registers it as Heaven's Gate property and sends it directly to the guild treasury. (Chapters 610, 613)
A finite trump card
Because Lux captures the machine rather than its plans, Heaven's Gate cannot simply reproduce it. Randolph, the Blackrock blacksmiths, and the Dryads attempt to reverse engineer the artifact, but it has only one use remaining at the last explicit count. A direct hit could lethally injure an Empyrean-ranked enemy, though the weapon is not expected to defeat a Calamity-ranked monster. Asmodeus later fields skeletal cannons modeled after it, but those imitations have inferior range and power. (Chapters 614, 703, 905)
Abilities and properties
- Collects magical spells and amplifies their combined effect to the level of a Grand Spell before firing over long range. (Chapter 606)
- Can amplify a single compatible magical attack, as shown when Lux's Crystal Dragon breath rises from E-Rank force to Grand Spell power. (Chapter 610)
- Its Empyrean-ranked World Boss Core supports only a limited number of firings; the machine began the campaign with three uses and had one remaining after its capture and deployment. (Chapters 606, 703)
- A direct strike can potentially lethally injure an Empyrean-ranked target but is insufficient against a Calamity-ranked monster. Lack of a blueprint also makes repair, recharging, and reproduction uncertain. (Chapters 614, 703)
