Later reports show him feeding reinforcements to General Phobus’s front, a policy Phobus interprets as sabotage but cannot prove. When Lux defects to Yelan, Rafael becomes a high-value enemy target, yet he never enters the decisive plains battle. The Rafael in Gaap’s service is not Rafael Watts. This Rafael is a colossal Sky Turtle whose resting body supports or resembles the floating island beside Pygmalion. At Gaap’s order, the creature extends its head, flippers, and tail, acknowledges its master with a roar, and propels the entire island toward the Crystal Palace. The event establishes a living transport platform of enormous scale but gives no evidence that the turtle fought in Ammar, held a military title, or had any relationship to the human Great General. Appearance and personality
Rafael Watts’s physical appearance is not established in the cited corpus. His manner is stern and initially dismissive of inexperienced mercenaries, but he respects Lux’s resolve and speaks as a professional strategist.
